Globe and BPI developed next-generation authentication with G Verify Verify Proof of concept

Globe and the Bank of the Philippines Islands (BPI) have taken an important step towards a more secure and seamless bank with a proof of concept (POC) authentication network (SNA). This next-generation authentication method aims to reduce fraud associated with one-time passwords (otps) and strengthen customer protection while improving the user experience.

The move is part of G Verify, Globe’s portfolio of network authentication and anti-fraud solutions that leverages Real-Time Network Intelligence and security application programming interfaces (APIS). SNA works as a global foundation that authenticates users instantly without the need for codes or SMS verification.

Globe and BPI, both part of the Ayala group, are jointly testing real-time, network-level authentication that verifies user authenticity to eliminate fraud, and keep transactions safe and secure. This shows the commitment of both companies that will be built on the brand Earfer, a seamless digital experience for all Filipinos.

“Security and convenience should always go hand in hand,” said Dizon, Vice President and Head of Business. “Our partnership with BPI allows us to quietly verify the authenticity of the network in real banking locations around the world, giving Filipinos the confidence to be safe.”

“At BPI, protecting our clients is paramount when we design digital experiences. We always want to support the integrity of every client transaction,” said Alex Seminiano, Chief Technology Officer, BPI Chiech, Chief Technology Officer, BPI Chiech, Chief Technology Officer, BPI Chiech, Chief Technology Officer. “At this time, we are testing an advanced authentication method that strengthens security while remaining foolproof. This demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that clients are at the center of what we do.”

Globe and BPI have successfully completed the technical validation of SNA, allowing the BPI test program to interface directly with Google’s network exposure platform (NEP). This integration provides real-time authentication, a network that verifies the identity of the user, to ensure that the person using the device is the owner of the real account, without sending a text message or requiring additional steps.

The POC ensures technical performance and alignment with GSMA and Camera standards, reinforcing Gabe’s commitment to strengthening digital trust and advancing the digital economy. Collaboration is also part of an open global gateway system, which uses APIs to unlock the capabilities of a network of business partners.

At BPI, Poc emphasizes its unreserved efforts to observe and test emerging technologies that protect the integrity of all work.

Globe also involves other leading financial institutions and e-commerce platforms to explore the wider use of network authentication, with the aim of creating a more connected environment where trust and protection are built into every interaction.

“We are shaping the digital future embedded in trust,” said Dizon. “The validation of the network of peace shows how GOBE leverages network intelligence and partnerships to deliver a simple and convenient digital experience for Filipinos.”

In support of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ call for flexible and future-ready security measures, Globe business, through G Verify and BPI are leading efforts to reshape digital identity and authentication in the country. This POC showcases the strength of BPI’s partnership with Globe’s partnership, and highlights how new partnerships and shared commitment can help create a safer digital world for all Filipinos and businesses.
