Dell 16 premium, nikon zr, ooni volt 2 and more

We’ve put our turkey coma back to sleep and it’s back in the review lab here at Engedget. Our team may also be in full CES PEPE PEPEP mode, but we have a few more devices to hit the shelves or our desks before the end of 2025. Catch up on all the updates you might have missed over the past few weeks – the perfect activity for a lazy weekend in December.

Dell 16 premium

Disrespect

Prell’s 16’s Premium looks as good as ever, but the company’s usability issues from the XPS LineUp remain.

Delightful

  • Sleek Minimalist design
  • Fast operation
  • A solid keyboard
For example

  • An invisible trackpad is useless
  • Capacitive function buttons disappear in sunlight
  • It needs more ports
  • Mediocre battery life

There’s no denying the design of the Dell 16 Premium makes the laptop live up to its name. Unfortunately, all that Polish leads to some issues: high price and interferes with use. “The more I look at the Dell 16 Premium’s beautiful facade, the more I want something … More,” senior reporter Deverindra Hardawar wrote. “It needs ports that are usable, like HDMI and a full SD card reader. It needs more useful function buttons that are visible with a bright light – and make them one place easily – so I can touch the invisible trackpad.”

DJI OSMO 6 action

DJI

OSMO action OSMO OSMO has a first variable actuator and a large square sensor. Those features make it a poor competitor in low light and social media, but the low video resolution is a disadvantage.

Delightful

  • Clean up the video with low light
  • Excellent battery life
  • Built-in storage
  • Flexible formats
For example

  • Lower video resolution than competitors
  • Aperture Manure Control Limited
  • Not enough film tone settings

DJI’s drone business in the US faces an uncertain future, and the company’s active cams could be swept away in favorable conditions. Thankfully, our volunteer Steve Dent lives in the EU where he sees first hand the underperformance of OSMO OSMO action OSMO action. “With larger sensors and more smoothing than the competition, the DJi 6 action is now at the top of the market in the night shooting market, delivering clean video,” he said. “It’s also good for outgoing users of both YouTube and Tiktok.”

Nikon zr

Nikon

Nikon’s NR offers the best raw video quality for any consumer camera, including the most expensive models. At the same time, it is more realistic than cinema cameras because of the excellent autofocus and body stabilization. It lacks an evf, however, the battery life is not good.

Delightful

  • Red Raw provides good video quality
  • Fast and reliable autofocus
  • Pro Video Monitoring Tools
  • Big and bright screen
For example

  • Mediocre battery life
  • There is no electronic test
  • Stability is less efficient than competitors

$2,197 at Amazon

In keeping with the theme of the video, Steve also took the time to test the Nikon Zr. While this is primarily a video shooting model, it benefits from the addition of red-green, good autofocus and more. “With ZR, Nr, Nikon has shown that it can finally reach and surpass its competitors in creating content,” he explained. “Whether you’re doing social media, YouTube, documentaries or film production, this camera is versatile and powerful with few compromises.”

Ohni volt 2

OONI / Engadget

Ooni completely redesigned its concept for the electric pizza oven volt 2. The result is a very refined performance with many simple tools that desire tools for all skill levels.

Delightful

  • It’s smaller than the original
  • A nice mix of presets and customization
  • Large Viewing Windows
  • It is less expensive than the original volt
For example

  • Still heavy
  • Only cooks 12-inch pizzas
  • For internal use only
  • It’s really hot outside

$699 at Amazon

OONI VOLT brought the company’s famous brand of pizza for the first time, but that arrangement was no mistake. Now OONI is back with volt 2, and the full build is a huge upgrade over the original. “It’s easy to use for all skill levels because of its clear controls and large display,” I explained. “The reset works well, but it can also serve as a starting point for the renewal of a used recipe for experienced users. And pizza – my goodness, pizza is all restaurant quality (or better) across a variety of methods.”

Antigravity A1

Antigravity / Engadget

Antigravity FPV FPV Drone is fun, unique and full of features. There is no drone like it.

Delightful

  • It’s fun to fly
  • Intuitive controls
  • Unique Features
  • Crisp Clean Video (in good conditions)
  • Great editing tools for mobile and PC
For example

  • Setup can be difficult
  • Lower video quality than traditional drones
  • The price

$1,599 in antigravity

Spin-off Antigravity’s Spin360 is now shipping its first drone and our UK boss Matt Smith is already flying. The A1 comes with a controller and an fpv headset to assist the pilot, but the mix of unique features and crisp video (in good conditions) is also popular. “Intuitive controls and the ability to look at everything around you make it unlike anything else available right now,” he said. “It’s a fun introduction to drones, FPV or otherwise, but it’s a shame the software glitches marred my tests.”
