Barcelona Player Ratings vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Barcelona secured a crucial win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League, but it wasn’t perfect by any means.
Joan Garcia – 7.5
Despite making some sensible saves, Garcia was an asset late on as the defense threatened to crack. Coming out for a series of crosses and set pieces, the 24-year-old once again showed authority beyond his years.
Jules Kounde – 8
Usually a match-winning brace will earn you a high rating, and his two goals were outstanding. That said, after a solid performance against Atletico Madrid, Kounde has returned to the rickety form that has characterized his season so far.
Pau Cubarsi – 6.5
Cubarsi remains a solvent in football, and is ready to fit in well in many games. But if the opposition gets the ball out of the first few possessions in good shape, it’s worth it.
Pedri: “Koundé is a hard-working boy and these two goals will do him the world of good. Physically I’m in good shape after the injury.”

Gerard Martin – 6.5
A poor performance by Martin, who had one good effort from away in the first half. Couldn’t cut the pass to the Knauff for the goal, but otherwise.
Alejandro Balde – 6.5
Deflensely Mantle, but also in the goal picture, can not cover around Knauff. Similarly, he had some very good contributions, but he could not deliver once in front of the goal.
Eric Garcia – 7
One of Barcelona’s better players on the night, he looks relaxed and comfortable in his midfield role. He was beaten in several challenges, and won the ball back up the pitch many times.
Peter – 7
Still the metronome of this barcelona jungle, but one of his little games. Barcelona’s lack of control in the final stages was symbolic of the fact that they couldn’t get Pedri on the ball often enough.
Lamine Yamal – 7
He grabbed the assist for Kounde’s second goal, and had some good moves, but otherwise he wasn’t at his best. Eintracht cleared him out rather well, and he was blocked in one or two attempts looking for that one in the top corner.
Fermin Lopez – 5
He gave his first start to injury, and struggled to make his presence felt. Fermin had the best chance for Barcelona in the first half, but he could not direct his finish to the defender, and he was brought down at halftime.
Raphinha – 5.5
Raphinha started on the left and almost created a goal for Robert Lewandowski, but misjudged his late run. It was moved in the middle of the second half, but what little chance he had, he could not deliver the killer pass or the decisive shot.
Robert Lewandowski – 4.5
Apart from his disallowed goal, he was not recognized for the 66 minutes he played. Lewandowski finished the game with 19 Touches, but it was nothing in the box, despite Barcelona spending more time in the Eintracht Half. There is an argument that the service lost equally, but Lewandowski will not take the starting spot from Ferran Torres like this.
Instead
Marcus Rashford – 7.5
Barcelona improved with Rashford in the hole, who gave them more width, although the focus was naturally on his good assist. Should have done better with one opening, but good performance.
Frenkie de Jong – 6
He caused trouble with a few runs into the box, and pressed well. De Jong should give Barcelona more control of the ball, but he struggled to link up with Eric Garcia and Pedri.
Ferran Torres – 7
He was alert and aggressive with his runs, dragging one effort wide at an angle, and forcing one good save. Torres runs and pace caused Eintracht many problems once he was open.
Andreas Christensen – n / a
In the final minutes, he cleared the ball badly at one point.
Roony Bardghji – N / A
And it came in the last moments, the reward for his performance against real betis.
