In terms of processors, cameras, RAM, and all the other fun stuff, these features are pretty much the same as what you’ll find on the Z Fold 7. The 6.5-inch cover display is particularly striking, as the one on the Z Fold 7 is exactly the same size. The 10-inch internal display, however, will be significantly larger than the 8-inch equivalent on the Z Fold 7. That’s the big selling point here: When folded, this measures up to a traditional large smartphone, but when you unfold it, you’re unlikely to find any phone with a larger display.
At first, thickness was a potential problem, as a triple smartphone had to be a hair thicker than anything else on the market. At 12.9mm, it’s a thick smartphone. For reference, the ultra-thin Galaxy Z Fold 7 is just 8.9mm when folded, making the Galaxy X TriFold a third thicker than its closest sibling. Whether that’s a dealbreaker or not depends solely on how big or thin you want your smartphone to be.
That’s about the only complaint on the stellar spec sheet. The battery is nice and big, Samsung packed 5,600 mAh into its three-cell system that we first saw. Korean phone patent. Each cell is hidden in each display screen, and is a 1,200 mAh improvement over the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold: Price
As for the price, be prepared for this. Samsung announced that the price will be 3,594,000 won. This translates to $2,450 (Samsung is likely to go up to $2,500). That’s significantly higher than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at $1,999.99. For availability, Samsung said it will be launched first in South Korea, followed by China, Taiwan, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and finally the United States. Per BloombergSamsung is expected to ship a very limited volume, so it won’t be widely available everywhere.
Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold: US release date
Samsung officially released the Galaxy Z TriFold on Dec. 12 in South Korea, so it’s wild now. Other regions where the phone is expected to launch, including the United States, will most likely see a launch in Q1 2026. That’s also Samsung Galaxy S26 is expected to be launchedfor both to be released side by side at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.
If you can’t wait any longer, there are plenty of unboxing videos on YouTube from the usual suspects, like Mr. Who’s the Boss and SuperSaf. The videos show the phone, including how it looks when folded and unfolded, and show its general functionality, as well as other cool features.
What do people think of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold?
Despite the high price tag, the Galaxy Z TriFold is truly a reality sold out in minutes. In South Korea, at least, the hype train is real, and Samsung can’t put these things on the shelves fast enough. The next batch is scheduled for Dec. 17 on Samsung’s website, and after that, we don’t know if they’ll have to continue rating these like they do now.
Impressions online have generally been positive, with several people who have had a chance to play with the smartphone saying it’s one of the most interesting smartphones in a while. Online and written impressions from the publication are generally very positive, and complaints are mild and mostly related to refinement, which is understandable given that this is a first-generation product.
Here’s what expert YouTuber Mrwhosetheboss had to say after trying the phone: “So, to be honest, I don’t think the Trifold is an option for a test phone. I actually think this phone has become a foldable Samsung. You’ll have to handle it carefully and you’ll definitely have to pay for the privilege.”
Public impressions were mixed, with some people saying this is the coolest new smartphone in years, period others less guarded.

“This is a real tablet killer,” he said one Redditor. Someone said they they were happy to see Samsung innovate, and it was explained when Apple will finally release its first foldable. “Sign me up for one,” one Redditor said. “[I’m] I’m bored with my Folds.” The most common feeling among the excited was how silly it would feel to be able to put a 10-inch tablet. in your pocket.
As for the complaints, they fall into two camps. Happy people from Europe at the moment facing difficulties balancing their disappointment at not getting a release there, and those wondering how the first generation device will hold up in the long run. Some have expressed concern about the durability of the screen, especially since Samsung is offering a 50 percent discount on the first screen resolution. Others are concerned about battery life, believing that the 10-inch display will chew through the 5,600 mAh battery quickly.
That said, very few people have gotten their hands on the Z TriFold, so we’ll have to wait a while to hear first-hand accounts of how it feels to use it every day.
