The Golden Globes have wrapped up for another year, and as usual the awards show brought its mix of funny moments, emotional moments, and outrage.

From Timothée Chalamet beating Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney to win his first Globe to Teyana Taylor’s emotional acceptance speech, we’ve rounded up some of the must-see moments below…

Celebrities wearing spikes to protest ICE

A number of Golden Globes attendees, including Mark Ruffalo, Wanda Skyes and Natasha Lyonne, wore pins to the event with the words “BE GOOD” in black caps against a white background – a protest against US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after 37-year-old mother Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis last week.

“We need every part of the civil society, the community to speak up,” deputy anti-ICE organizer Nelini Stamp of Working Families Power was quoted as saying by NPR. “We need our musicians. We need entertainers. We need people who show the community.”

Nikki Glaser grilling celebrities and the government

Nikki Glaser also brought politics to the awards show, grilling the US Department of Justice and many celebrities in attendance.

“Yes, the Golden Globes: without a doubt, the most important thing happening in the world right now,” he said. “I can’t believe the amount of star power we have in this room tonight. It’s crazy. There are so many A-lists. And by A-lists, I mean people on the most groomed A-list.”

Rose Byrne’s joke about her husband

Rose Byrne’s husband Bobby Cannavale wasn’t there, but when she picked up her award for Best Female Actor (Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy) for her performance in. If I Had Legs I’d Kick Youmake sure you call him.

“He wouldn’t be here because he got a bearded dragon, and he went to a reptile show in New Jersey,” she said. “Thank you, my child.”

Ryan Coogler thanks audience for “showing up”

They are sinners won awards for best original score and cinematic and box office success on Sunday. In his acceptance speech, writer/director Ryan Coogler thanked the audience.

“It was a joy for the film to know it was going to be released theatrically,” Coogler said. “We’re going to remind people every day, in the dog days of summer, in New Orleans, like, ‘Hey, it’s a big movie, people are going to see this, big theater.’ We didn’t know they were going to show up, so we want to thank them for coming. It meant the world to us.”

Timothée Chalamet defeats the “stacked” category to win his first globe.

Timothée Chalamet thanked everyone involved in the making Marty Supremeand he managed to crack a very good joke.

Teyana Taylor’s emotional speech

After winning the award for Best Supporting Female Actor for the role she played One Battle After EnoughTeyana Taylor gave a powerful speech.

“To all my black sisters and little black girls watching tonight: Our softness is not a bond, our depth is not too much, our light doesn’t need permission to shine, we belong in every room we walk into, our voices matter, and our dreams deserve a place,” Taylor said.
