Michael McKee has been charged with shooting and killing an Ohio dentist’s wife

A Franklin County grand jury has indicted Michael McKee on multiple counts of aggravated murder and other charges in connection with the fatal shooting of an Ohio dentist and his wife, court records show.
McKee was charged Friday with four counts of aggravated murder, each with a firearm, according to an indictment filed in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.
Three of the aggravated murder counts include a specification that the use or display of an automatic firearm or a silencer, while the fourth states that a firearm was displayed or implied. McKee is charged with one count of aggravated burglary, one count of burglary, and one count of aggravated robbery, a misdemeanor.
Authorities allege McKee shot and killed his ex-wife Monique Tepe, 39, and her husband Spencer Tepe at their home in Columbus’ Weinland Park neighborhood around 10 a.m. Dec. 30. McKee was arrested Jan. 10 and was later transferred to the Franklin County Jail.

Police described the killing as a targeted attack, related to domestic violence, but said they are not talking about a motive or whether there was any contact between the suspect and the victims before the shooting.
“We know this is her ex-husband, so it’s related to domestic violence. And, as the case goes on, as the cases go on, we’ll probably get more answers. But, right now, we don’t have an answer about the motive,” Police Chief Elaine Bryant told Fox News Digital.

McKee revoked his release during a hearing in an Illinois court on January 12, while he was being held at the Winnebago County Jail in Rockford, Illinois, where authorities found him following the murder.

Charging documents say investigators identified McKee by linking him to a vehicle that arrived at the Tepes area shortly before the incident and left shortly after. Police later located the vehicle in Rockford and determined it belonged to McKee, court records show.

Bryant said investigators found several guns at McKee’s home, including one believed to have been used in the murder. He said there is contact with the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network, which ties one gun to these incidents.
The first investigation report also revealed that the three who shed 9 mm shells at the scene of the incident were found and put into evidence. When asked if the gun was legally recovered, Bryant said investigators are still working to get that information.
