Alien Disclosure Could Cause Bitcoin Rush, Former Bank of England Analyst Says

According to a Sunday Times report, a former analyst at the Bank of England (BoE), which is the central bank of the United Kingdom, wrote to the governor of this bank, Andrew Bailey, about the need to prepare for the possible disclosure of foreign life by the Trump administration in the United States. The former BoE analyst, Helen McCaw, previously worked in financial security at the bank and helped develop plans for hypothetical economic crises, such as the one she now sees as a possibility in the event of full disclosure.
According to the prediction market Polymarket, the power of alien disclosure is not as far as previously thought, the probability currently sits at 12% regarding such a revelation before 2027, although at a low trading volume.
There have been an increasing number of credible, high-level government officials talking about UFOs (now called UAPs) over the past few years, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and many others in the accompanying documentary, The Age of Disclosure. The director of the documentary, Dan Farah, shared his belief that it is only a matter of time until the sitting US president reveals it.
Disclosure can cause widespread cases of ontological shock among the general public, which is why McCaw sees the need to make economic preparations in advance. Significantly, it is said in the Years of Disclosure that former US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin once received a briefing on the topic of extraterrestrials due to similar concerns.
“There can be extreme price volatility in financial markets due to crisis or euphoria, and a breakdown in confidence if market participants feel uncertain about how to price prices using any standard methods,” McCaw reportedly wrote in his book. “If there is an official announcement and we are given clear evidence that no one will oppose it, I can say that in just a few hours, you will have complete financial instability.”
McCaw also outlined several different scenarios that could exist if the alien life disclosure did indeed happen. One such scenario included the flight to bitcoin as a safe haven due to the erosion of trust in traditional, government power structures.
“There may be a rush for digital currencies like bitcoin, which may prove attractive if people question the legitimacy of government and lose faith in government-backed assets,” McCaw wrote.
The former BoE analyst also shared two different views on what could happen with the traditional, one of bitcoin’s analog, which is gold. On the one hand, McCaw realized that the precious metal may have enjoyed the same experience as bitcoin as a source of security and financial security, but on the other hand, there is the possibility of fear of entering the gold market due to the power of “new technology of space travel” to greatly increase the supply of precious metals through new mining projects.
This point about gold finally facing a major devaluation due to space-based mining projects is one that is being brought up in discussions by bitcoin supporters more and more. For example, it was the main point made by the Winklevoss twins when they tried to make a bitcoin case against Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy in some awkward conversation a few years ago. While space mining is currently thought to be unprofitable, NASA is launching a mission to explore an iron-rich asteroid in 2023.
Bitcoin’s difficulty adjustment algorithm (DAA), in which the difficulty associated with mining bitcoin increases when more computing power is assigned to the network, prevents the same large increase in supply that occurs with crypto assets. Regarding the changes in Bitcoin’s monetary policy, social attack vectors are probably the biggest problem, when users are convinced that they just enter a new, different crypto network when the 21 million bitcoin cap is removed. Quantum computers may eventually pose a threat to Bitcoin; however, the developers are already working on improvement suggestions that can be implemented, if necessary.
