Barcelona v Copenhagen Player Ratings: Lamine Yamal decider

Barcelona secured their place in the last eight of the Champions League on Wednesday night with a 4-1 win over Copenhagen at Camp Nou, but it was not entirely comfortable.

Joan Garcia – 6

He came out to successfully cut off a number of attacks. It is difficult to remove acts of disobedience from your thinking. He made an amazing save when he was offside, but he was saved by someone who was offside – his attempt to get a cross made him responsible for the goal that was not successful.

Jules Kounde – 4.5

Unsurprisingly unknown in attack, it was a loose pass from Kounde that led to Copenhagen’s goal, putting his side in trouble once again. Another game that has done little to challenge his critics.

Pau Cubarsi – 5

And he’s not particularly smart in goal – Viktor Dadason ran away from him quickly, but he had time to realize that there wasn’t enough pressure on the ball to hold his line. Continues to look worried for the rest of the game.

Gerard Martin – 5.5

Dealing with a few collisions that lead to Copenhagen’s attack, but did not stop Copenhagen from targeting him and their leading players.

Alejandro Balde – 6.5

Not very encouraging going forward where Barcelona could have used a threat on the by-line. However he had a couple of good runs inside, finding Lamine Yamal in the gap for the second goal.

Eric Garcia – 6

He hasn’t looked particularly sharp in midfield, unlike most of his season. He was unlucky not to score with an excellent effort from under the post, but he didn’t miss when he came on at the break.

Dani Olmo – 7

It’s not a great performance in the deep role of Dani Olmo – it’s true that he’s comfortable at 10 years old. As has been the practice of late, Olmo decided, releasing Lamine Yamal for the equalizing goal, the pass that changed the game.

Lamine Yamal – 8

Not his best performance, but if you go around the game, you will find Lamine Yamal at the heart of Barcelona’s dangerous moments. His runs and assists were vital for the opener, his shots were lucky in the second, and in the first half, he was the only real source of creation.

Fermin Lopez – 6.5

A performance that didn’t stand out, even if his defensive work and toughness were much needed in Barcelona’s midfield.

Raphinha – 6.5

Someone who was fighting to commit to this game. He had one clear opening in the first half, but he snuffed it out by cutting inside. His execution was good, but like Lopez, his best attribute was his attitude.

Robert Lewandowski – 7

Really weird performance. He missed a good chance early on that would have put Barcelona at ease, but his role in the comeback cannot be denied. In the hand to convert the equalizer, he wins a penalty to close it again. And yet there is no doubt that this Lewandowski does not look as deadly and comfortable as last year.

What you are holding

Marc Bernal – 7

Bernal was smooth in midfield, except for a few gifts. He didn’t stop, but added more water than Garcia.

Marcus Rashford – 7.5

He came on and gave some purpose to Barcelona’s attack. A very good free-kick to get on the score sheet, and break the woodwork at times.

Ronald Araujo – 6.5

There is little to report to Araujo, who came away with a two-goal advantage and has a series of simple tasks to do.

Marc Casado – 6.5

It continues for the last ten minutes, no comments.

Ferran Torres – 6.5

You could tell he was eager to get on the score sheet with a late game, but he lit up his shot from the edge of the box.
