President Donald Trump offered renewed support for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem on Friday, saying she has done a “good job” amid immigration protests across the country.
In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump blamed “hard left” activists for targeting Noem while touting what he described as historic gains in border security and public safety under his administration.
“Radical Left Lunatics, Insurrectionists, Agitators, and Thugs, are going after Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, because she is a woman, and she did a REALLY GOOD JOB!” Trump tweeted Friday evening. “The Border disaster I inherited has been fixed, the violent criminals who were allowed into our country through Joe’s ‘sick’ Open Border Policy, are long gone, or wanted out, and the Murder Rate in the USA has just reached its lowest level in history, 125 years!”
In another episode, Trump praised border governor Tom Homan for doing a “GREAT JOB” after sending him to Minneapolis this week to replace Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino. Trump suggested that Bovino did not adequately address the government’s attacks on immigrants.

Trump’s comments come as Noem faces mounting criticism following the fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good during an immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis.
Several prominent Democrats have recently called for her removal as DHS secretary, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and other House Democrats, are threatening impeachment if Noem is “immediately fired.”
Republicans Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska have also publicly called for his removal.

On Friday, several groups of students at the University of Minnesota led what they called a “National Shutdown” against the state’s immigration law, with activists joining across the country.
Trump has accused Democrats of using the protests as a distraction from what he alleges is widespread financial crime involving billions of dollars in public money.
“Republicans, don’t let these Crooked Democrats, who stole Billions of Dollars from Minnesota, and other Cities and Towns from all over the country, push you,” he wrote. “They are using this protest scam to cover up, cover up, and cover up their ACTIONS of theft and treason. They should all be in jail.”

“Will Kristi Noem step down?” asked the reporter.
“No,” Trump replied.

Noem addressed calls for his ouster in an interview Thursday on “Hannity,” saying “radicals” were targeting him.
“These bigoted people are attacking me, but I’m just doing my job. I’m following the law, I’m enforcing the rules as President Trump promised to do to keep people safe in this country,” he said.
