President Donald Trump has threatened to take legal action against author Michael Wolff and the estate of Jeffrey Epstein, insisting that the recently released trove of files related to Epstein clears him of wrongdoing.
Trump was aboard Air Force One on a flight to Palm Beach, Florida, on Saturday when he answered a reporter’s question about the more than 3 million Epstein-related records and emails released by the Justice Department on Friday.
“It looks like this guy, Wolf, was a writer, he was conspiring with Epstein to do bad things,” Trump said. “I didn’t see it for myself, but I was told by very important people that not only did it exonerate me, it was contrary to what people had hoped, you know, on the left, that Wolff, who is a third-rate writer, conspired with Jeffrey Epstein to harm me, politically or otherwise, and that came out loud and clear.”
Trump said there was a good chance he would sue Wolff and the Epstein estate “because he conspired with Wolff to do bad things politically. That’s not a friend.”

In another March 2016 email between Epstein and Wolff reviewed by Fox News Digital, Wolff encourages Epstein to come up with a “quick retelling” of James Patterson’s book about him, “Filthy Rich: A Powerful Billionaire, an Undisclosed Sex Slut, and All the Justice Money Can Buy.”

“You need a quick narrative of the book,” Wolf wrote. “I believe that Trump offers a great opportunity. It’s an opportunity to make a story about something other than yourself, while, at the same time, it allows you to make your own story.”
“Also, being anti-Trump gives you some political cover that you’ve decided you don’t have now,” Wolf continued.

In a previously released February 2016 email, Wolff suggested to Epstein that the disgruntled financier was the “bullet” that could end Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Regarding the disposal of Epstein’s latest document, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche told Fox News Digital on Friday that “none of these communications, even as he did his best to discredit President Trump, did Epstein suggest that President Trump did anything criminal or communicated improperly with any of his victims.”
