NEWNow you can listen to Fox News articles!

As the search continues for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said at a press conference Thursday afternoon that there are no suspects or persons of interest in the case.

In response to a question about online rumors that a member of the Guthrie family is a suspect, Nanos responded that authorities are looking for anyone and everyone who may have had contact with the missing woman, who disappeared early Sunday from her home in Tucson, Arizona.

“We are actively looking at everyone we meet in this case, everyone. We would be remiss if we didn’t talk to everyone – the Uber driver, the farmer, the pool person, whoever. Everyone – it’s a cliché – but everyone is still a suspect in our eyes. That’s just how we look at things and think like police,” said Nano.

“And the family has been very cooperative. They have done everything we have asked of them. And we want that relationship to continue,” said Nanos.

Nancy’s oldest daughter is Annie Guthrie, a poet and jeweler who is the former director of marketing for the University of Arizona Poetry Center, according to a 2013 profile in Women’s Quarterly. He is the author of “The Good Dark,” a collection of poems published in 2015 by Tupelo Press.

From her poetry and her Facebook page, Annie’s special interest is in Oracular writing, a type of divination text that places the poet as a medium between humanity and the supernatural or non-human world.

A 2015 Facebook page that has apparently not been deleted from BASIS Oro Valley has a story about Cioni, who says he loves working at the school because he can share his love of learning with them.

The profile says that if he wasn’t a teacher, he’d rather be a rock star, then adds, “but wait… I’m a rock star! … [sic] herpetologist.” A herpetologist is a specialist in amphibians.

Zach Lind, drummer for the legendary band Jimmy Eat World, spoke highly of Annie and Tommaso on X earlier this week. “Annie and Tommy are wonderful people, devoted parents who love and care for Nancy every day,” she wrote.

Savannah Guthrie

Nancy’s second daughter is active reporter and NBC “Today” host Savannah Guthrie. Throughout the 1990s, Guthrie was a broadcaster for local cable companies in Montana, Missouri and finally Tucson, where he grew up. He spent five years working at the city’s NBC affiliate, KVOA, before accepting a position at the NBC affiliate in Washington, DC.

After returning to school and becoming a lawyer, he briefly worked in criminal defense and later clerked for the US District Court for the District of Columbia before returning to journalism.
