Ten months after Virginia Giuffre’s suicide, newly released emails appear to support her claims that she met and photographed Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The email, which was sent in 2015, was revealed in more than three million Jeffrey Epstein-related documents released by the US Department of Justice on Friday. It was addressed to Epstein and sent by “G Maxwell,” believed to be Ghislaine Maxwell. The body of the email is labeled “draft statement.”

“In 2001 I was in London [REDACTED] I met a few of my friends including Prince Andrew,” it read.

The name of who Maxwell was talking to is listed in the published file. But Giuffre alleges she was forced to sleep with the former prince three times, including at Maxwell’s home in London in 2001 when Giuffre was 17. The same home is referred to in a 2015 email.

Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied allegations of abuse and says she has never met Giuffre. CBC News reached out to his representatives for comment via email but had not received a response at press time.

“The email itself is very important,” said Sky Roberts, Giuffre’s brother.

Together with his wife, Amanda Roberts, the two he spoke to the BBC Newsnight system after the email appears.

“I think this is a moment of affirmation,” he said, “but we also want to use this as a moment to remind people to believe the survivors.”

Memorial of Giuffre, No Girlhe was released in October 2025, a few months after his death and explained his alleged abuse of Epstein, Maxwell and Mountbatten-Windsor.

Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence in the US for sex-trafficking charges related to Epstein, her ex-boyfriend.

In a separate email to Epstein in 2015, Maxwell said, “I have to distance myself with a statement. And they need me to say I didn’t know about the massage. [with Andrew] in my house.”

Mountbatten-Windsor he told Newsnight in 2019 that he does not remember taking a photo with Giuffre, insisting that he was not at Maxwell’s house that night but at Pizza Express.

“You will not be able to prove that that picture is fake or not, because it is a picture of a picture,” he said at the time. “So it’s very difficult to be able to prove that, but I don’t remember this picture ever being taken.”

In 2022, he settled a case of sexual harassment from Giuffre for an undisclosed donation to his charity. It did not contain an admission of guilt or an apology.

The former prince’s relationship with the late Epstein, who was convicted of sex crimes, continues to delight the royal family, even though he will be stripped of all titles and privileges in 2025, including leaving his mansion, the Royal Lodge.

On Thursday at a public event in the village of Essex, a heckler asked King Charles about his younger brother Andrew’s relationship with Epstein.

“Charles, Charles. Have you pressured the police for not investigating Andrew?” shouted the man before he was escorted away by the police.

‘You know what happened; I know what happened’

Giuffre’s brother and sister-in-law expressed their wishes for a police investigation.

In their interview with the BBC Newsnightthey say they are proud of their late sister for her bravery.

“You know, every time I’m faced with what Andrew says, I’m always reminded of this quote that Virginia says: ‘You know what happened; I know what happened. And I know that only one of us is telling the truth here, and I know that it’s me, “said Amanda Roberts.

The email seems to confirm that the photo of the former prince, Virginia Giuffre is real

An email in Jeffrey Epstein’s files believed to have been written by Ghislaine Maxwell appears to confirm that the photo of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor with his arm around Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexual abuse, is real.

Lisa Phillips, another Epstein abuse survivor, told CBC News Network host Aarti Pole that she wants the former prince to come to the US to testify before Congress.

“It is necessary to know what is needed to get out there that these powerful people – billionaires, respected, world leaders – many of them were useless. And therefore it is necessary to be exposed,” said Phillips.

“I’m not sure how far people can be prosecuted, but I believe Congress needs to do something, and we need to continue this fight to get answers.”
