Traffic is stopped, but not for construction.
Police in Commerce City, Colorado, said they were as surprised as drivers this week after a fire-fighting bicyclist turned a busy road into an unexpected lane — a moment the department joked was “definitely not on our Bingo card.”
The Commerce City Police Department shared drone footage and photos of the unusual incident after receiving multiple calls from motorists who encountered a man flashing flashlights while riding a mini bike in traffic near US 85 and 60th Avenue.
“This post was not on our Bingo card, but we are here,” the department wrote on social media. “The intersection of US-85 and 60th isn’t quite the Las Vegas Strip…or is it?”

According to the police, the singer rode in the median and crosswalk while the cars were waiting, attracting the attention and concern of the drivers.
“We got a lot of calls the other day when motorists were enjoying the fun of a biker shooting fire,” said the police.
The police filmed the scene using a drone, which showed the man sitting on a unicycle as the flames flickered just feet away from passing cars. While acknowledging the skill involved, saying it was “really good,” police made it clear that the incident crossed a legal line.

“Our drone caught his act, which was good and illegal,” the ministry wrote, citing crossing the median and obstructing traffic by failing to clear the road in time.
The police said they always make efforts to enforce the law at intersections to ensure that pedestrians selling goods or services do not disrupt traffic, saying reports like this are unusual.
“We don’t often get reports like this anymore … well … we have NEVER received a report like this,” the post said.

The department concluded with its message simply, reminding the public that fires between vehicles are not encouraged.
“So let’s all take a moment to appreciate this man’s gift,” the police wrote, before adding: “Then we all agree that we won’t do things like this. Okay?”
