TUCSON, Ariz. – An Arizona gun store owner says an FBI agent asked him to review recent gun purchases tied to a list of nearly two dozen people, as the manhunt for Nancy Guthrie moves into its third week.

Phillip Martin, owner of Armor Bearer Arms in Tucson, told Fox News’ Amalia Roy that an FBI agent visited his store with three pages of about 18 to 24 people with matching pictures and names.

The agent, Martin said, asked to see if any of these people had bought a gun from his store within the last year.

“He actually gave me a list of documents, a list of people who had pictures and names, and he wanted to know if I could help him get out of my system if any of these people bought a gun last year,” Martin said.

Martin said he was initially skeptical of the request but eventually agreed to help out of concern for Guthrie’s family.

“I felt bad for the family, anything that could help them find someone I was willing to help,” he said.

Martin said he was entering each last name into his store’s records system, which would show identifying information when someone made a purchase. He said no name has returned the same amount of gun purchases in the past year.

According to Martin, the agent told him that investigators planned to visit more gun stores to find out if anyone was on the list of recent gun buyers.

On Tuesday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos denied reports that authorities had narrowed the suspect pool to a few people. During an interview with Fox News’ Jonathan Hunt, Nanos denied that investigators were targeting a particular group.

“That is not true,” Nanos said when asked if the authorities had identified about 40 people as suspects.

“We have not reached anything other than the fact that we have evidence that we are looking at to try to find this person,” said Nanos.
