Olmo responds to the criticism of the candidate for the President of Barcelona

Barcelona player, Dani Olmo, has told presidential candidate Victor Font to stay on track, after the latter criticized his signing. The main phase of the election campaign, as candidates gather signatures to enter the final ballot, continues, and thus campaigning has increased.

Like criticism from potential candidates to incumbent President Joan Laporta. The font was criticizing the work of the Director of Football Deco, and by proxy, the authority of Laporta, as well as, the signing of Olmo. Other ‘candidates’ Xavier Vilajoana and Marc Ciria criticized the club’s financial management.

Speaking in an interview with RAC1 on Thursday, Olmo was asked if he can handle criticism, and he seems firm.

“I have heard. That they should not focus too much on the players and more on the issues of the team. I am a member, it is my team, and I will vote. I have decided how I will vote,” he continued, explaining that Font seems unlikely to receive his support.

Olmo has faith in Atletico Madrid’s comeback

The defiant message this week from many Barcelona players was clear, that the club feel they can overturn their 4-0 deficit in the Copa del Rey in the second leg of the semi-finals.

“I believe we can return to Camp Nou when we face Atletico Madrid, and the team believes so. We know we have to improve many things, but we will do it.”

This season, Barcelona will once again pursue the title they missed last season, the Champions League.

“We were very close, but now the motivation to try again. It will be difficult, but we are Barca and we want to play and compete for everything. The Champions League round of the Champions League will always be against a top opponent,” commented Olmo who may face Paris Saint-Germain or Newcastle United in the round of 16.

Another criticism of Olmo’s signing is his availability. The former RB Leipzig man has yet to run two months without interruption since arriving at Barcelona. Olmo disagreed with the definition of ‘injury’ however.

“I’m in a good moment, but I think the best is yet to come. Physically, I’m healthy, I needed consistency and the feeling is good.”

“It’s not that I’m suffering from people who say I’m too injured, but I don’t agree with that either, I’ve been injured due to trauma, which is something I can’t control because it’s part of sports.
