The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Friday announced new arrests made by immigration enforcement officers who have been convicted of violent and sexual offenses.

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers arrested several criminals on Thursday with previous convictions for child rape, child sexual abuse, methamphetamine trafficking and torture, according to DHS.

“Even in the face of doxing, threats, harassment, and a more than 1,300% increase in their attacks, ICE continues to pursue illegal criminals, including child abusers, violent sex offenders and drug traffickers,” Outgoing DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.

“Approximately 70% of all ICE detainees are immigrants who have been convicted or charged in the US,” McLaughlin said. “If you break the law, you will face the consequences. Illegal gangsters are not welcome in the US.”
