Deadly Pakistan-Afghanistan conflict claims to justify lies

The cessation of hostilities stopped the deadly border escalation between Afghanistan and Pakistan that killed dozens in October, but the Internet said that the government of Kabul Taliban asked the government of Islamabad not to be presented. The fake post, which has been circulating widely among Pakistan Social Media users, includes a requested news report.

“Indeed, God loves those who forgive. We ask Pakistan to be forgiven,” said the Urdu-language text of the image published by the Pakistan Broadcaster Geo News.

It was shared on X on October 12 and featured a photo of Afghanistan’s minister of affairs Sirajuddin Haqqani, suggesting he made the relevant remarks.

Same post And it surfaced widely on facebook and x a day after the Taliban forces of Afghanistan were attacked by the Pakistani forces on their shared border, in what is called “revenge made by the Pakistan Army in Kabul” (link saved).

Islamabad did not directly claim responsibility for the strikes, but also explained the right to defend itself against the war it says is organized on Afghan soil.

The two sides have clashed repeatedly in the border regions since the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in 2021.

Zabiyullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the government of the Taliban, said that 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed during the conflict on October 12 and about 30 soldiers were wounded, and nine Taliban soldiers were killed.

The Pakistani military, meanwhile, said 23 of its soldiers and more than 200 Taliban and allied forces were killed.

The 48-hour firefight lasted until late October 15, officials on both sides said (link saved).

However, there were no official reports that Afghanistan’s Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani had asked for forgiveness from Pakistan.

The head of Geo News of Digital Akeput Manzar Elahi denied the organization that published the report.

“The post circulating on social media is false. Our newsroom did not publish such stories,” he said. he told AFP on October 15.
