Gopros to avoid
GOPRO doesn’t sell anything older than the hero 12, but there are plenty of hero 11s and hero 10s out there for sale online. We suggest avoiding. They may work well, but modern accessories made for later models will not work, and these cameras probably did for this writer. (They are action cameras, after all.)

Should You Buy a Bundle? Usually, I say no. Get a camera, see it, see how you end up using it. When you find yourself trying to solve a problem, start looking for a supplement. Here are some of my favorites that I’ve tested and used, but if you have favorites you think I should try, drop me a comment below.
A good $50 MicroSD card: According to GOPPro recommendations, you want a MicroSD card with a rating of V30 or UHS-3. That said, gopros can do away with SD cards. I was also lucky, and recommended, Samsung connected here. Another card that I have used a lot is the sandisk extreme pro.
GoPro Media Mod for $80: With my most used add-on, Media Mod adds many more, but in most cases this is more than what is done for the fact that you can connect to a real microphone (I use mine with rode wireless). The sound quality is greatly improved with this one. This may be necessary if you get a hero 12 or later, because those models are supported with Bluetooth MISMIS.
GOPPro Pattingbar Mount for $40: I’ve been riding a lot lately, and this mount sits pretty well on my bike these days. It had solid power in my testing, and it beats any third-party mounts I’ve tested.
Gopro Tripod Mount Adapters for $30: Unless you have a hero 12 or 13, which has a built-in tripod mount, you’ll need a few of these to mount your gopro to the trillapod.
The GoPro floats for $35: If you get anywhere near water, grab one of these. Trust me, you will drop your gopro, and if you do, you’ll be glad you have this (unless the water is clear and you’re a freebie). Gopro also makes a Floating hand grip ($23), not only that but it has a leash for towing for diving or surfing.
GoPro Selfie Stick for $80: This 48-inch pole is surprisingly light and not too heavy. Best selfie stick I’ve used. I don’t often use it for selfies, but it makes a great monopod on soft ground, like a sandy beach.
DaVinci Sembukeni Studio for $300: This is my video editing software of choice. There is a free version, but I was tired of converting media to fit the limitations of the free version. The best money I have ever spent when it comes to making better videos.
