‘I Love You: Review: Rachel Sennott’s Comedy is a very serious comedy
Rachel Sennott’s HO Comedy follows a Los Angeles-based Friend Group, at the center of which is Junior Talent Manager Maia (Sennott) and her Bestie and rising client of the most beautiful girls (Odessa a’zion). When finally the two decided to take it up a storm, their relationship in the series begins in a big place, reminiscent of the annoying and insecure Charli XCX’s original “girl, confused” from brat.
In that track, the singer wonders if the subject of the song – first stated, then confirmed to be the Lord – loves or hates him. “You can’t tell if you want to see me / you fall and fail, the feeling that works in both the pressures of the music industry and the king is very moving.
Case in point: Maia and Tallan. The two were intended to leave New York and meet in La, before Tallah bailed on the program. Over the years, Maia has primarily dealt with tidelah through social media, watching Tallah’s star rise as she features in high-profile projects like the Marc Jacobs Heaven campaign. In the first moments of the show, maia sees Tallagram’s matulagram posts, even though she was burned. He is obsessed with the image of Tallah’s success, and what Talleh thinks of him – or if he does.

Maia removes Tallulah as an act of rebellion for the 27th birthday. You know, Tallulah is on her way to La right now to surprise her on her birthday. From that moment on, it is hell for maia. Antics’ lies and rides escalate until Maia can’t take it anymore, leaving her and Tandulah to fight it out in the bathroom at her birthday party.

Here, the truth comes out: Tallulah and I were lying. She broke down, her boyfriend threw her and kicked her, and she didn’t get to anything at the level of the heaven campaign in a year. Just like Maia thought Tallan killed it, Tallulah thought Maia killed it, and she hurt her cold throughout the weekend. To paraphrase this king, both women believed each other’s guesses, and now they completely get where the other is coming from.
Tallulah’s revelation is a wonderful surprise, establishing a true reconciliation between friends. They went into the bathroom and screamed in anger, but they left less happy about what the future holds for the two of them.
Following an all-out aggressive launch, the scene offers the same catharsis as hearing Nuve jump to a “big hit” and announce that she and Charli XCX should ‘work on the Remix.’ Before the release of the Remix, people were warm to the mouth of Drama, trying to figure out what the Song was talking about, and wondering what they felt or how they reacted. Remix found a more happy ending, a sincere apology for how a person with low self-esteem can damage relationships with others.
Similarly, before the bathroom, I was ready to knock, fighting between Maia and Tallulah. And after only seeing things from Maia’s husband for most of the episode, I was just as angry with Tallal as he was. (Many times I wrote down, “ugh, Tallalah. And while “girl, so confusing. The Lord” is actually flawless I love youIts spirit shines through Maia and Tallulah to form.
That may not be all for Charli XCX in the series, however.
