‘Metroid Prime 4’ looks and feels great, but I’m worried about one small thing

It’s just great to have my good friend Samus Aran back.
Contrary to Nintendo’s very cold character, samus too The porch The series has been in the wild since 2007, when Prime Prime 3 it came out. I enjoyed it Fear of the metroid The best of the last few years, but it’s really the only game Starring Samuus in almost 20 years that I’ve cared about. On December 4, that streak will hopefully end Prime Prime 4: Beyond On nintendo switch and switch 2.
I got to play about an hour of the game at the preview event, courtesy of Nintendo, and I have some thoughts. A large part, at least based on the first parts of the Prime 4this is still there Metroid Prime You know love. But, I have a big big problem. Let’s get into it.
‘Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment’ is going well. It’s also a very disappointing Switch 2 exclusive.
It feels good to be back in the power suit
Aliens are very direct.

My demo of Prime 4 It takes place in two different chunks: a short-minute blurb at the start of the game (a demo I’d already played back in April), and a longer look at what the game looks like it starts. As in Samus they find themselves on a strange planet, which seems to be destroyed full of wonder and mystery, and must figure out what the heck to do with it. A variety The porch things.
The longest part of the demo takes place in a jungle-themed area called Fury Green. This place indeed A reminder of the past The porch games; Big monsters of bugs and plants that are Alien attar atmus every few minutes, and the disease art of sharp alien pulls the ground, recently Samus to find a suitable item or power to use. While this part of the game was straightforward and straightforward, there were definitely doors and paths that I can’t open yet because I don’t have the right strength, that’s what you want to see in The porch The game. There was also, it seems, the first hour or so of this game, so I won’t dismiss that part of it for being in line.
Without starting life as a 1 switch game (and still getting 1 release), Prime 4 it might be the best looking game i’ve seen running on switchn 2 so far. The demo was running in 4k / 60fps settings, although the 1080p / 120FPS version looks great, too. Aside from the raw tech specs, fury green is a great place, and the art direction on Prime 4 looks like it’s on par with the rest of the series.
Top high stories
The developer of the series Detro Studios is back and you can feel the feeling of running in this ancient world, which is not known for shooting everything in it with a gun. Combat is fast, smooth, and fun, and as a bonus, this is a first Metroid Prime The game presents you with standard, analog-analog controls. It sounds great, and Sams new abilities have brought a lot of fun to both puzzle solving and fighting. He can manipulate small balls of energy in Alien an anlien devices, and fire a beam that stops time and allows you to fly well in the environment for a few seconds. I did another big boss fight at the end of the demo where I had to pick up three stones at once using that last ability, and it felt like a classic Metroid Prime things.
So, yeah, I’m not really worried about the parts where you look and play Metroid Prime 4. My demo also, sadly, doesn’t include any motorcycle stuff.
But I hoped I would be the only one here

Hell yeah.

This demo of Prime 4 would have left me happy with the game with zero reservations if not for one small thing: at the same time as Fury Green, Samus works for another disabled person, the promoter of the Dorky Galactic Federation Engineers who work full time. He accompanied me throughout the demo universe, partly as someone to protect in a short quest section for a while, but mostly as the guy who brings in Samus (who doesn’t speak at all).
This is not the first time a The porch The game has placed Samus next to other people, with or without voice acting. Results in previous games have been … mixed, to say the least. The porch It always worked best when Samus was truly alone in the dark and the best in the world. At the beginning of time It’s cool Games, in particular, have an unmistakable sense of the spirit. Before meeting this doofus developer, Prime 4 He feels reminded of that. After meeting him, it’s a fun game with great visuals and great combat, but it’s not the same.
It also doesn’t help that he’s kind of annoying, and it’s hard to tell if the game is a joke or not, from what I’ve played.
I will not be judged Prime 4 In this case yet. For all I know, this dude is a small part of the game and will not disappoint Samu’s ear throughout the adventure. I just don’t want to waste it all Metroid Prime Adventure listening to geeky dude talk in Pseudo-Marvel Cinematic Arveratic Arveratic Arveratic.
After seeing that part of the Metroid Prime 4I am legal slowly You are worried about the game that has given me reasons to feel that way so far. I think Nintendo got the benefit of the doubt here, but I can’t lie: I’m more nervous than I like to be. We’ll see what happens there Prime Prime 4: Beyond The launch of switch and switch 2 on December 4.
For now, you can plan ahead Prime Prime 4: Beyond for $69.
