Democratic rep. Brad Sherman is firing back after photos surfaced that appeared to show him looking at candid photos on a tablet while sparking internet backlash.
Photos posted to X on Friday show the California Congressman, 71, staring at a tablet with his mouth agape as he scrutinizes pictures of women in underwear.
“Why does California Congressman Brad Sherman feel it’s appropriate to look at porn on his iPad while flying today?” one x post read.
The post has been viewed 12.4 million since Saturday evening.
Sherman denied the allegations, and a spokesperson for the Congressman told FOX News Digital that the images appeared because of the X – Algorithm.

“This was nothing more than scrolling through Twitter — and unfortunately, Elon Musit has broken Twitter’s algorithm to serve people content they didn’t ask for or subscribe to,” Sherman’s spokesperson told FOX News Digital in an email.
Sherman told similar stories that the images appeared on his X feed under the X section – A page that shows recommended content.
“This was on Twitter. These pictures went up, ‘you said’,” Sherman told Punchbowl News, adding that he looked at various posts during his cross-country flight.
“When you have to fly across the country, you look at a lot of things on your tablet,” he said.

“If I see a picture of a woman, am I likely to look at it longer than the sunset? Yes.”
When asked if he thought the content was appropriate to view on a plane, Sherman told PunchBowl News, “Is it pornography? I don’t think Elon Musk thinks so. Is it appropriate? No.”
The images quickly spread across social media.

Mace recently sought to resign as Charleston Airport Suirport chief and threatened legal action after airport officials accused him of mistreating employees.
