Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy blasted a court ruling Monday that denied the Trump Administration’s request to bar illegal immigrants from obtaining CDLs.

“We’re not going to take this lying down,” Duffy said on “The Ingraham Angle.” “We will do everything we can to protect the American people.”

His comments came after a federal appeals court in Washington, DC, ruled last Thursday that the Department of Tourism’s restrictions were not found.

Such restrictions were announced in September, after illegal truck driver Harjindery Singh was accused of causing a tractor-trailer accident that killed three people in Fort Pierce, Florida.

The judges said the Federal Government failed to follow due process or explain how the law would improve safety. The court also noted that the safety management data of the Federal Carrier Carriers shows that about 5% of all driver’s licenses are illegal, although they account for 0.2% of crashes.

Duffy pointed out that he has been largely blamed for the administration of the bid, which he says has allowed millions of illegal immigrants to come in, provide authorization and then allow them to seek CDLs.

“People are dying,” she said.
