Sen Budd Bill hits back at NYC Mayor-Elect Mamdani over vows to arrest Netanyahu

First on fox: Senate Republicans want to take a legislative shot in New York, elect Zohran Mamdani and his desire to imprison Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Sen. TED Budd, RN.C., to introduce a law that will freeze certain money in cities following any international court (ICC) that authorizes the arrest or detention of officials from the countries of the North Atlantic Corract Organization (NATO) countries.
The measure, called the “American Allies Protection Act,” is a direct response to Mamdani doubling down on his vow to arrest Netanyahu. Last year, the ICC issued a warrant for the arrest of the Prime Minister of Israel, which was carried out by law makers in the US and other countries.

Mamdani reiterated his desire to arrest Netanyahu last week before meeting with President Donald Trump. He told local news station ABC7 that New York City was “a city of international law,” which would support the Justice Minister, who accused the Israeli Prime Minister of a deliberate attack in the war.
“I have said many times that I believe this is the city of international law, and being a city of international law means looking at international law,” he said. “And that means supporting international court warrants, whether it’s for Benjamin Netanyahu or Vladimir Putin.”

Budd was charged in a statement by FOX News Digital that the US ‘is not bound by the court of moral misconduct, and also blamed Mamdani’s position and the reversal of the law but on a reasonable basis, he said. “
“Mayor – Elect Mamdani’s Phetsani to make the arrest of Benjamin Netanyahu is not just a joke; It represents a serious threat that could seriously damage America’s relationship with our closest allies and partners,” said Budd.

His law will stop any department of justice (doj) grants from flowing to any city that cooperates with the court and binds NATO or US Mork On-Naton Ally.
There is an additional written mechanism built into this that would allow the President to waive the penalty only if cooperation with the court is deemed to secure national security.

At that time, the Netanyahu issue apparently did not come up during the Cump and Mamdani period. When asked if there were any discussions to stop Mamdani from arresting Netanyahu, Trump said the couple, “did not discuss” this matter.
