Conduent, a Business Services company providing health billing, He began sending notifications to people affected by the massive data breach affecting 10.5 million people, making it one of the largest breaches of its kind. At least some of the people affected had their names and social security numbers revealed by an unknown third party, according to letters of notification shared with state attorneys general.
According to HIPAA magazine, a modest data breach can be the eighth largest financial breach in healthcare.
To the notice of Maine residents, Contunt states, “Currently, we have no evidence or indication of misuse or attempted misuse of your information.”
Conduent provides billing, Medicaid audits, tax collection, and a variety of other services to businesses and governments around the world, and thus access to highly sensitive personal data.
Many states require businesses to notify residents when their data is disclosed. In recent months, the cover-up has started sending notices to various Government offices, as well as to affected people, the group said.
The Oregon Department of Justice Department of Justice reports that the breach affected 10,55,849 people. And in October, the consent informed the New Hampshire Attorney General that “the personal information of the affected individuals included their name and social security number.”

It is not clear whether all 10.5 million affected people have their social security numbers revealed. Mashable has contacted the concept for more information, and we’ll update this story when we hear back.
Coints said it noticed the data breach on Jan. 13, 2025, and that an “unauthorized third party” was receiving part of its program from Oct. 21, 2025 to Jan. 13, 2025.
“On January 13, 2025, we discovered that we were the victim of a cyber incident that affected a limited portion of our network. We immediately secured our networks with the help of third party software.
The letter also states that “Courent has been actively working with a dedicated review team, including internal and external experts, to conduct a detailed analysis of the affected files to identify personal information.”
Major data breaches have affected many private and public organizations in recent years. Two data breaches at AT&T recently led to a $177 million class action settlement.
