A new Star Trek movie has been announced, the beginning of the end?

Ever since Parimount ended its deal with Skydance, fans have been wondering what’s next for Star Trek, the biggest IP of all. Now, Deadline reported that Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley will be writing, producing, and directing a new Trek movie that will be a complete departure from any of the shows or movies that came before.
While the desire to create something completely new is understandable, Paramount is really playing with Phaser Fire here because it’s a trek film without the connection of a bona fide box office bomb.
Nutrek, meet the new adventure
According to Deadline, sources say the new Trek movie is not connected to any previous or current television series, movies, or movie development projects. ” The publication noted that although this information has not been confirmed, “it is possible that new characters will be included in this version.” It seems that Paramount wants to end its most popular franchise from the ground up; Unfortunately, they chose to do so in a way that is guaranteed to drive the franchise to in the ground.
The last time the franchise got such a big reboot, it was in 2009 Star Trekwhich takes place in a completely different universe. That gave the creative team involved an excuse to ignore most of the previous drama to make a great, fast-paced movie for this difficult, slow-moving nP. But they had a secret weapon on their side: The movie was filled with some of the most recognizable characters in pop culture history.
Star Trek: The Original Series Little took three seasons on the air in the 1960s, but the Rerans made an unexpected splash with college students in the 1970s. This kicked off a series of animated movies that lasted into the ’90s. Long story short, all of these media sources ensured that many generations of vigilante consumers grew up knowing who Kirk, Spock, and the rest of the Enterprise staff were.

That leads to a modern-day fantasy plane that doesn’t seem to appreciate it: Young, familiar audiences who didn’t grow up watching Star Trek are still at least as familiar with the movie characters. slowly you know each other. For them, this might just be characters their parents grew up watching, or characters they see in memes or silly YouTube comedy videos. However, when the Star Trek Movie came out, younger audiences wanted to see what these famous characters were like together, as how well (or how well) older audiences could behave.

Now, Paramount wants to make a new trek movie that ignores all these years of NUTREK Momentum by severing any connection to that show, and doing so with characters they’ve never heard of. Simply put, it’s the worst of both worlds: Established fans will hate that this movie goes back decades, while general audiences will ignore the latest film in this 60-year-old franchise because it doesn’t have the same characters.
Paramount has assembled an excellent creative team for this new Star Trek movie: Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley write Spider-Man: Homecoming (One of the best movies in the Sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe) and directed Dungeons & Dragons: Honor among thieves (A brilliant adaptation of the most popular tablet game in the world). They clearly have the talent to deliver a fast-paced movie full of great humor, thrilling action, and epic sets. But if the studio insists on making a new star trek movie another reboot, this one filled with nameless sci-fi heroes, then this Revival could be the beginning of the biggest franchise of all.
