A luxury nightclub in the Swiss Alps where at least 40 people died and nearly 120 others were injured in a New Year’s fire, had previously released a video advertising the flaming champagne bottles, which authorities identified as the cause of the disaster.
Le Constellation, a bar in the town of Crans-Montana, Switzerland, posted this video on YouTube showing waiters wearing helmets walking through a dark, crowded club with bottles lined with glowing candles.
In the photos, the bottles can be seen being held high, sometimes almost touching the ceiling.

The video emerged following a deadly blaze that engulfed the basement nightclub at around 1.30am on Thursday during the New Year celebrations.
At least 40 people died, and 119 others were injured, many seriously, as flames and smoke quickly spread through the packed area.
According to two witnesses, the security guard was carrying a female employee on his shoulders while holding a champagne bottle with a lit spark near the wooden ceiling above the bar.
After a while, a fire broke out above.

The Attorney General of Valais, Beatrice Pilloudsaid, confirmed on Friday that exploding fireworks were the cause, as the flames caused a powerful ignition of flammable gases known as flashover, which caused the flames to spread suddenly.
“The whole roof was on fire, and the fire spread quickly. It happened in seconds,” two survivors later told French broadcaster BFMTV.
Axel Clavier, 16, from Paris, said he felt like he was choking as smoke filled the club.
Clavier told The Associated Press that he escaped by using a table to pry a plexiglass window out of its frame amid what he described as “total chaos.”
He also said he saw waiters arriving with bottles of champagne and glitter.
