Hamas said it would hand over the hostage’s body on Wednesday, after Israeli forensic services concluded that it was returned the day before and was not one of the last two hostages.
The Handhever of the Gourses 2 Horges’ Bodies in Gaza will complete the key situation of the first part of US President Donald Trump’s Plan to end the war in Gaza.
Hamas said it would offer the body at 5 pm local time (10 am et).
The armed wing of the Hamas-Palestine Islamic Jihad Movement, the Al-Quds Brigades, said it had carried out a search in northern Gaza, along with a team from the Red Cross.
The group later said they found the body, but did not say which of the two remaining kidnappers they believed to be.
Both of them are Israeli police officers Rinthalak and Thai National Sudthisak Rinthalak, both kidnapped during the Oct of Hamas 7, 2023, the attack on Israel that caused two years of devastating war in Gaza.

The search came shortly after Israel’s national forensics center concluded that the remains transferred by Hamas on Tuesday did not belong to the last hostages in Gaza, Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office said.
Israeli forces said they had sent the bodies, which were not described as “finds” for forensic examination.
“The discovery brought yesterday for inspection from the Gaza strip is not connected to any of the dead hostages,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement on Wednesday.
Hamas handed over the remaining bodies to the Geneva-based Red Cross, which has acted as a mediator between Gaza’s armed forces and Israel throughout the war.
Israel has been releasing 15 Palestinian bodies with the remains of each as part of the amnesty agreement. The Gaza Ministry of Health said the total number of infected people so far is 330.
Meanwhile, Gaza’s main gate is expected to open in the next few days, Israel said Wednesday, allowing thousands of Palestinians in need of medical care to leave war-torn Egypt.
Cogat, Israel’s military arm that oversees human affairs, said the opening of the Rafah crossing will be coordinated with Egypt, under the supervision of the European Union Mission, similar to the equipment used during the January 2025 agreement.
The war in Gaza began after the Hamas-led forces killed 1,200 people, most of them civilians, and took 251 hostages, according to Israel on Oct 7, 2023.
The Gaza Health Ministry reported at the weekend that the number of people confirmed to have been killed in Israel in the Gaza Strip has passed the 70,000 mark, most of them civilians.
