After another offensive performance from the lifluster, the Las Vegas Railers have fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, according to multiple reports.

This is the second coordinator fired by the Raiders in the past three weeks, as Tom McMahon’s special coordinators were relieved of his duties after their 10-7 loss to the Denver Broncos on November 6

Las Vegas emphasized improving its Offseason offense, and the addition of Kelly made him the highest paid coordinator in the NFL with an average of $6 million per season.

Kelly was coming off a national title win with the Ohio State Buckeyes, and with Pete Carroll coming out of retirement to coach the Raiders, he returned to the NFL to join Las Vegas.

But after adding veteran quarterback Genebach Smith in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks and using their first pick on starting running back Ashton Jeanty, the offense isn’t performing well enough.

Owner Mark Davis and the entire organization decided it was time to let Kelly go before the end of his first season with the franchise.

Kelly’s firing comes after the Railers scored just 10 points in a 24-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns last Sunday. Smith threw for 285 yards on 30-of-44 passing with one touchdown for the Giants. But the Raiders have scored 16 points or fewer in four of their last five games — all of which have ended in losses.

Entering Sunday’s game, the Raiders ranked third worst in yards per game (269) and points per game (15.5). Carroll also could not be happy with Jeanty and the rushing attack, which managed 81.4 yards per game without investing in the starting position.

The Raiders offensive line has been a problem all season, with Smith being pulled 31 times entering the game against Cleveland. The Browns left the stadium on Sunday with 10 sacks. Tennessee’s only quarterback Cam Ward, No. 1 perfect pick, has been more widespread this season with 45.

It is unknown who will take over the offensive playmaking duties of the Raiders for the rest of the season. But at 2-9, it was an unfortunate start to Carroll’s comeback — a season that was supposed to revitalize the franchise.
