Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie blamed New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Friday for doing a poor job clearing the city of snow and debris after a major snowstorm.

During an appearance on “Overtime,” the online segment of “Real Time With Bill Maher,” Christie was asked by Maher to plan Mamdani’s handling of his first major snowstorm as city leader last month.

“Yeah, I would give him a C, because he seemed to be moving the ice but he didn’t know how to do anything else when that happened,” Christie said. “He didn’t pick up the trash. All my kids live in New York City. I’ve been there since the blizzard. Trash piles up everywhere. But you know one clean place where there’s no trash and no snow—no snow even on the road? In front of the Gracie Mansion.”

Maher expressed disbelief despite the audience’s cheers, but Christie insisted it was “absolutely true.”

“It’s like, ‘socialist, schmocialist, take care of my stuff first,'” Christie said.

“Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss,” Maher replied.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Mamdani’s office for comment.

Mamdani was criticized for his handling of the road cleaning work after the big snow storm that hit the city on the weekend of Jan. 25. Many people reported more than a week of snow accumulation this storm accompanied by piles of garbage bags.

“A week after the blizzard and this is what we found Zoron the Shoveler! Dirty black snow, trash soup, ice shelves on every corner, cars buried like scraps,” actor Michael Rapaport wrote on Instagram last week.

Mamdani spoke about the snow accumulation during a press conference on February 2, almost two weeks after the storm.

“Normally, after a snowfall of any kind, rising temperatures would help melt that snow. Instead, what we’re all dealing with is cold weather continuing at an extraordinary pace, frankly,” he told reporters. “And what that means is that the entire response of the city depends on the city staff themselves. And they’ve been doing an incredible job. However, it’s a job that has to go on, and it’s a job that requires us to go beyond the ordinary.”
