Days of Our Lives brings Dimitri von Leuschner DiMera (Peter Porte) back to Salem, ready to be arrested over the horrible antics of his beloved wife, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien). I suspect that Dimitri will try to make good on his counter-threats.

Man, I was happy when the sexy Peter Porte reprises his role as Dimitri and returns to our screens. He came to Salem to meet Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart), only to find that Gwen was doing everything in her power to destroy both of their lives.

Okay, so Dimitri’s return shocked newlyweds Leo Stark and Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon) like two minutes into saying “I do.” Of course, Dimitri arrived in Salem just as the happy couple was about to post their wedding photos. Leo and Javi were surprised to see Dimitri walking over them in a suit. She looked very beautiful. I love the long flowing hair.

It looks great—super sexy. However, Leo was especially shocked since Dimitri broke off their long relationship. She did this in a letter that said she was in a relationship with a hot prison boyfriend, fell in love with him and doesn’t even want to see Leo anymore. But then Dimitri completely shocked Leo by not writing the letter. He doesn’t even know which book Leo is talking about.

Dimitri didn’t have to look very far to find out who wrote the divorce letter. Of course, his lovely wife Gwen had the power, the motivation, and the opportunity to break Leo’s heart. Gwen insults both Leo and Dimitri for their betrayal. I mean, I get why he did it. I can’t say that I wouldn’t have done the same thing myself given those strange circumstances.

In his mind, it’s like, why should Dimitri and Leo get their happily ever after? Her best friend cheated on her husband when Gwen had been Leo’s best friend for years. Dimitri set Gwen up for trouble just so she could get a big fat payday. The boys kept coming. Javi knew Leo had unfinished business after seeing his ex, Dimitri.

He tells Leo to go with Dimitri and says that Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) needed to stop filing their marriage license. Marlena said they have 10 days to file it to make the marriage legal, so time is of the essence. Meanwhile, Leo turned to Marlena to talk, and suggested that Leo let his heart guide him.

Meanwhile, Gwen is upset that Dimitri didn’t show up to the wedding early enough to interrupt it before the “I do’s” can be said. Gwen holds no grudge against Javi. She honestly thinks she’s doing Javi a favor by showing him who Leo really is.

In her mind, she thinks that Leo will definitely betray Javi and break her heart like he did hers, throwing away years of friendship just to meet some hot guy. In that episode, Gwen made it clear that she was doing Javi some kind of favor.

The latest spoilers this week say that Leo is proving his love for Javi. We know Dimitri will kiss Leo at the DiMera mansion, but I think after that smooch, Leo will ditch Dimitri for good.

That rejection will totally upset Dimitri because he still loves Leo and thinks they are forever. Gwen kidnapped him, broke up with Leo on his behalf, and spent months spending his money while he was hidden in Alaminia and kept in critical custody.

It was a gilded cage for the beautiful beast that Dimitri von Leuschner DiMera is. More than hot, this man is dangerous, and Gwen knows it. You may also remember that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) is Gwen’s partner in crime regarding Dimitri’s kidnapping.

That’s why he invested a lot of money in EJ’s secret lab. At the DiMera mansion, Dimitri told Gwen he wanted a divorce. Dimitri said he only needed to marry a woman when he turned 40, and told Gwen that there was nothing in the terms of the codicil that said he had to stay married. However, he may be lying.

Dimitri wanted a divorce, but that won’t work for Gwen because she wants to keep her money. Also, who knows how much money has already been spent on that secret lab? You are waiting to get a return on investment.

When Dimitri tried to divorce her, I could see Gwen standing up, protesting, or demanding a large alimony payment. Gwen told Dimitri, “Get out of the mansion, go crawl into a room at the Salem Inn or near Leo.” But Dimitri says that since he is DiMera, he will stay in his home.

He doesn’t think his uncle EJ will mind him staying. Dimitri is very wrong about that. Gwen is still upset about Dimitri and Leo embarrassing her. I think, honestly, Gwen is angrier at Leo than Dimitri in the end. It hurt him a lot to be betrayed by Leo.

Dimitri’s threats and Megan Hathaway’s reputation

Dimitri threatened to prosecute Gwen for kidnapping, but he has no proof and denies that he did it. Dimitri then threatened to contact the ISA. However, he double-crossed the agency when he lied and tried to steal the jewels from the Alamanian peacock.

The bottom line is that ISA is not Dimitri’s friend. Her mother, Megan Hathaway (Miranda Wilson), can’t go back to Salem or she’ll be arrested when she sees it, but she may call him for advice on how to deal with Gwen.

Dimitri wants Gwen to pay one way or another, literally and figuratively. If Dimitri can’t prove that Gwen kidnapped him, he will go and seek revenge in another way. There is a chance that his mother will tell him that he cannot divorce Gwen because it would be bad for him or it would break the codicil. If so, Dimitri might decide it’s better to be a grieving widower than an unhappy, angry husband.

Did Dimitri von Leuschner DiMera Benefit from Killing Gwen Rizczech?

If you remember, Dimitri insisted that he was going to live in the DiMera mansion. He told Gwen that he would stay in his family’s house “even if it kills us.” So the question is, could Dimitri really get revenge on Gwen and get her fortune out of his greedy hands? Yes, maybe.

I saw Dimitri planning to kill Gwen if his other methods of revenge failed. Moreover, Dimitri will be surprised if he thinks that EJ will help him. Little does he know that his uncle helped arrange his abduction. Once he finds that out, Dimitri might as well direct EJ over Gwen Days of Our Lives.

That probably won’t work for Dimitri. It’s better for EJ if Dimitri dies and Gwen keeps the fortune as a grieving widow so she can continue banking the secret lab. Also, Gwen will soon find another partner in crime because Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) has returned home from the mansion soon. He and Gwen will be toasting to both of them getting what they want. For Kristen, that’s revenge on EJ. For Gwen, revenge on Dimitri.

With those two tips, all the guys better watch out. So, the big question: would Dimitri really try to kill Gwen? I think so. Don’t forget that Dimitri was going to kill Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) in cold blood until Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) shot him in the back and stopped him. We know Dimitri can kill, and he really hates Gwen right now.
