Days of Our Lives: EJ Involved in Stephanie Stunt?

Days of Our Lives spoilers wonder if EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and his secret lab are somehow involved in the kidnapping of Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein). He is handcuffed to a chair and is terrified. Owen Kent (Wes Ramsey) says EJ didn’t hire him, but that may not be true.

Days of Our Lives: EJ DiMera, Stephanie Johnson and Owen Kent Drama Reveals

One thing we can say for sure is that Dr. Rolf (Richard Wharton) has Owen Kent help keep an eye on the pod’s human, who may be Lexie Carver. However, we also know that Rolf is not a guy who writes checks and makes payments. That’s EJ and Gwen Rizczech.

DOOL History: Kidnapping and DiMera’s Dark Secrets

Obviously Owen Kent works for Rolf. And Owen wanted to keep Stephanie and Jeremy Horton quiet when he knew Rolf was in the lab next door. I think it’s safe to say that Rolf doesn’t know that Owen kidnapped Stephanie and held Jeremy.

So, here’s the bottom line. I want to find out if EJ DiMera pays for Stephanie’s kidnapping again like he did last time. Or, it’s possible that EJ is completely in the dark about Owen being back in Salem. That’s the best scenario, but Days of Our Lives history says that EJ might be involved.

Kiriakis vs DiMera Feud: Victor, Stefano & EJ’s Master Plan

Several years ago, the Kiriakis-DiMera feud took a truly dark turn. Victor Kiriakis had kidnapped Stefano DiMera. In revenge, EJ hired Owen to do the dirty work. Owen worked for Victor in the Kiriakis area as a farmer and assistant.

It was similar to what Xander did later. EJ had Owen kidnap Stephanie, who was dating Philip Kiriakis at the time. EJ wanted to use Stephanie as leverage to free her father Stefano. At first, Owen’s kidnapping of Stephanie was just a job. But it turned out to be so much more than that on Days of our Lives.

Worrying About Dates: Owen, Stephanie and the Horror of Corpses

Owen became infatuated with Stephanie. As he told Jeremy at the time, Owen’s family owned a mortuary. He kept Stephanie there in the cold, curled up on a cold, claustrophobic metal shelf.

Meanwhile, Stephanie tried to manipulate Owen by using his attention to her advantage. He was trying to convince Owen to let him go. Then the boy left completely. He stopped following EJ’s orders as he continued to focus on Stephanie.

Finally, Philip Kiriakis, Brady Black, Melanie Jonas, and Shawn-Douglas Brady all work together. They were instrumental in saving Stephanie. Eventually, Owen was arrested. But he escaped when his prison car crashed years ago on Days of our Lives.

That crash is believed by many to have been orchestrated by the DiMeras, especially EJ. This was back in 2009, I believe. So no one ever thought of Owen as a suspect in the kidnapping of Stephanie Johnson because it had been a long time.

Stephanie Johnson’s Fulfillment and Jeremy’s Frame for Days of Our Lives

When Stephanie saw Owen, everything clicked. It all made sense. That’s why he almost immediately apologized to Jeremy. I was very impressed with that. I thought he might hold it back for a moment, but he immediately apologized. Good for him.

With Stephanie gone again, everyone is out looking for Jeremy because Owen has done a perfect frame job. That’s why Stephanie panics when Jeremy arrives at the warehouse. Stephanie also believed in frame work.

Jeremy’s Surrender and Stephanie’s Escape Efforts in Days of Our Lives

Jeremy is actually right about all of this. He is very patient and understanding. Furthermore, he seems determined to save Stephanie from Owen no matter what. We know from Days spoilers later this week that Stephanie is trying to escape.

Jeremy might encourage her to go without him if he got the chance. Stephanie wanted to know from Owen if EJ hired her. He squinted and said no. But he said he understood why Stephanie asked that.

So they might not believe that this could be going on near the top secret lab without EJ knowing. In addition, Owen told Stephanie and Jeremy that he has a night shift job. Owen used EJ’s name when he sent a photo frame with a bug to Stephanie and Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) as an engagement gift. This could be Owen stopping EJ again.

I doubt EJ hired Owen directly. If you remember, EJ helped Alex get the listening device from the frame when he realized that it was the frame, not EJ, who sent the frame. We also know now that Owen is guarding the pod person at night, probably Lexie.

Owen told the woman that when he wakes up, he plans to recycle his tube and use it to smuggle Stephanie out of the hospital and out of Salem. That way, they can start their new life together.

Owen Kent’s Deadly Plans: Jeremy’s Fate Revealed

As for Jeremy, he should be in jail now as a scapegoat. So said Owen. But now that Jeremy has found Stephanie, now kidnapper Owen must decide what Jeremy’s fate will be. He said it would be a permanent solution.

That sounds killer. So, yes, I think Owen plans to kill Jeremy. Although it seems that EJ didn’t hire Owen this time, at least according to the kidnapper himself. The question is – does EJ know that Dr. Rolf did you hire him?

If so, it must have crossed EJ’s mind that Owen could be the kidnapper. I suspect that Dr. Rolf does not know that Owen has kidnapped Stephanie. Rolf has worked for the DiMeras since the late 1990s.

So I’m sure you’ve at least heard of Owen. But Rolf may not know about the past kidnapping or he doesn’t care because he is focused on his work. Rolf doesn’t care about external things. EJ may not check who Rolf hires as night lab support.

Does History Repeat? Will EJ and Owen Work Together Again?

The big question is whether history repeats itself and EJ is involved. Maybe they both lied to Owen. Or maybe, like Rolf, EJ might be too distracted. He tries to resurrect his dead sister Lexie, run a hospital, deal with Johnny, and do other things.

Perhaps EJ was unaware of who exactly Rolf was hiring to work as a supervisor on this project. I personally suspect that EJ may be completely innocent. If so, that would be a rare event for him. He was involved in Stephanie’s final kidnapping.

But then again, EJ didn’t hesitate to let the police into the big lab to investigate the place. That said, it’s possible that EJ said it was okay to search because he knew the police wouldn’t find the real lab.

It was behind a secret door. The police could not find the pod man, who is behind a secret door. And they wouldn’t find Owen, who only exists at night, too, behind a secret door.

So, I have to admit that there is a small chance that EJ would be vulnerable to Stephanie’s kidnapping. Maybe he suggested that Rolf hire Owen. Even though EJ hired Owen to do one thing, he knew he would do another. In that way, EJ’s hands are somewhat clean.

He may want to get revenge on Steve for continuing to investigate him. Or the whole thing could be Owen and Dr. Rolf’s production. Owen may, as a last resort, behave badly and act alone against DiMera’s orders.
