Days of Our Lives: Gwen and Leo Join Forces – Plotting Dimitri’s Takedown!

Days of Our Lives is Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) really crazy that her plan to punish Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) by bringing back Dimitri von Leuschner DiMera (Peter Porte) backfires in a big way.

And now Gwen wants to divorce her cheating husband again ASAP. And Leo wants the hunk gone. We’ll talk about whether former best friends Gwen and Leo can put their differences aside and work together to get Dimitri gone.

Now, let’s get into it. We knew there was going to be trouble with Leo and Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon) when Gwen took her cheating husband Dimitri out of hiding and brought him back to Salem. You could tell Gwen was hoping Dimitri would show up to the wedding early enough to interrupt it before they said their I-dos.

If you remember, you could tell Gwen was expecting something big because she kept checking her phone to check the time during Leo and Javi’s romantic New Year’s Eve wedding, and she looked impatient and irritated. So, it upset Gwen’s plans that Dimitri didn’t show up until Javi and Leo were called husband and wife.

Things Go Wrong for Leo and Javi on DOOL

But everything came to a head because Javi was quick to tell Leo, “You have to work things out with Dimitri.” And this time, this week we saw, Javi refused to allow Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) to apply for his marriage license.

So, that means it will expire and that means it will be like Javi and Leo never got married. It just completely reverses you. And now that Javi’s father is having open heart surgery, he has to leave Salem for Texas.

Javi Leaves Salem as Leo Fights His Emotions

This week, after Trey’s quick baptism, we saw Leo completely devastated because he had to say goodbye to Javi, who has left town for good. We know you’re coming back. I’ll talk about that in a minute.

The problem is, Leo has admitted to Javi that he still has feelings for Dimitri. Obviously there is unfinished business there. Although Leo’s heart I think belongs to Javi, there is still chemistry there between Leo and Dimitri. I honestly think it’s mostly lust. Peter Porte is an excellent host. I mean, we can all see it.

So, in the meantime, Javi gave Leo his wedding band back and we just saw Javi cry. He refused to keep it, but Leo vowed to keep the ring until he returned it to Javi’s finger. It was heartbreaking. It was sad. And for now, Leo had to say goodbye to Javi. And I bet when his soul mate is gone in Salem that Leo will get down on his knees and solve this problem for Dimitri.

Gwen’s Revenge: French Fries and Frozen Bank Accounts for Days

Meanwhile, Gwen sees red. He does not believe that Dimitri cut off the bank account and credit cards. Gwen was humiliated by Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) in a bookstore. So, he followed Dimitri, screaming, stole his fries, and dumped his food on his lap and his beer on his head, which I thought he did very well.

Yes, her husband is still salty. Because he is sure that Gwen was the one who kidnapped him. And he is right, but he has no proof. Dimitri keeps telling anyone who will listen that Gwen kidnapped him, but no one seems to care. And they all told him, “Call someone else.” You know, call someone who cares. Isn’t that a saying? Here’s a quarter, call someone who cares.

And to be fair, it was EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) who helped Gwen arrange Dimitri’s kidnapping and abduction. They are plotting about it, but I think EJ saw the moving parts to make it happen. And of course, he was more than happy to help Gwen as long as she would use Dimitri’s money to fund a secret lab hidden under Salem University Hospital behind the facade of a free clinic Tom Horton (Zach Chyz). So, there’s a deal there and there’s going to be trouble when EJ comes back to town. So, Gwen really needs to fix this.

Days of Our Lives: Gwen and Leo Hit Rock Bottom in Salem

The important thing is that Gwen’s return to Dimitri has turned into a big disaster. He plans to divorce Gwen and take all her money, including the money she spent. I don’t know where you think that will come from.

Then Dimitri thinks he’s going to ride off into the sunset with the love of his life, Leo. Those are great ideas, but I don’t think they will happen. And I think Dimitri needs to watch his back because Gwen is getting more desperate every day. And he just admitted, which I thought was great, that the thing that Dimitri hates the most is ruining his relationship with his best friend Leo.

So, I suspect that Gwen and Leo finally sat down and had a quick chat. Gwen is at a low ebb now that Dimitri is cutting her off financially. Meanwhile, Leo is down because Javi emotionally cut him off from returning the ring and left town without a date to return. He actually threatened that he didn’t know if he would come back. And we’ve already seen Leo ask Gwen to kidnap Dimitri again to go along with the lab’s secret story.

Is Dr. Will Wilhelm Rolf Turn Dimitri into a Lab Guinea Pig on Days of Our Lives?

Now, at the time, Gwen lied and denied it, but now things have gone downhill, and I suspect she might be ready to play ball with Leo. And let’s be real, he also misses being besties with Gwen. So despite their anger, I think they will see that Dimitri is a common problem that they need to solve together.

I’ve mentioned in previous videos that I thought Gwen could ask Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) while EJ is gone. DiMera’s mad scientist is on the payroll and knows about Gwen’s funding of the tech lab and all of her research. Therefore, Rolf may agree to take Dimitri off their hands because he knows this is important to fund the research.

What would be a real soap if Rolf tells them he’s going to kidnap Dimitri and say he’s going to take him back to Alemannia, send him back to a fancy prison, or maybe even take him to the private island of DiMera where he’ll be safe and sound but out of touch. But instead, Rolf snaps him up and Dimitri wakes up in a secret place as a guinea pig while Leo and Gwen think Dimitri is back in the lap of comfort.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: February Sweeps and Recasts Javi

So, here’s the big question in all of this. Will Gwen and Leo work together like they did in the old days to get rid of Dimitri? We know Leo says he’s a changed man because of Javi, but he also knows that Dimitri is stuck, so Javi won’t go back to him.

So, I think at this point, Gwen and Leo have both reached a point of despair that they might be willing to leave the past in the past, let bygones be bygones, and work together. Gwen was really hurt when Leo slept with her husband repeatedly even on her honeymoon.

And of course, he was hurt that Gwen forged the divorce letter she received from Dimitri. So, they both really messed with each other and they just need to call it quits and bury the hatchet—and they can bury it in Dimitri’s back.

I don’t think Gwen’s husband will stay in Salem very long. The February sweeps will begin at the end of next week and they always make big news. Things start to pick up speed. So Dimitri’s fate can be revealed during the sweep.

Peter Porte’s Key Storyline in DOOL

Peter Porte said he was very happy to be back Days of Our Lives and he called it a reasonable matter, but he did not indicate how long he would stay at this time. And we all know that Days is a revolving door of people coming in and out all the time. So, it’s possible that Gwen and Leo try to get rid of Dimitri and they succeed, but then he escapes and goes back like a bad pen. We’ll see how it goes.

I hope to see Leo and Javi happy every now and then. Al Calderon will continue Days of Our Lives until May and they reprise the role of Javi because Al Calderon joined the NBC show Wise Minds. So Javi and Leo might work things out and that means Dimitri has to go. And my money is on Gwen and Leo teaming up, confronting Dimitri and conspiring together leading to them meeting as best friends forever.
