Elon Musk Says ‘I’m Back in Mind’ About Going to Epstein Island

Elon Musk has spent recent days on his social media site X trying to explain why he exchanged so many emails with Jeffrey Epstein. Tesla’s chief executive insists that Epstein was the one chasing him. But the more Musk explains, and the more e-mails emerge from the vast archive of Epstein files, the more the alien seems to get defensive.

Musk has denied wrongdoing and says he has never been to Epstein’s private Caribbean island, known as Little St. James. And while there appears to be no physical evidence that Musk went to the island, it’s clear from the emails that Musk wanted to party with Epstein. Musk had engaged in lengthy back-and-forth discussions in 2012, 2013, and 2014 about visiting the island.

A series of emails from Dec. 2012 mention of the “average” at Epstein’s parties is particularly concerning, if only because it’s unclear what he means. Musk talked about bringing his then-wife Talulah Riley, the British actress he was married to 2010-2012 and again from 2013-2016.

Epstein: You are welcome to stay or just come for a day, there is plenty of room, I will send a heli to pick you up

Musk: Do you have parties planned? I’ve been working until the end of th=s year for sanity so, when my kids are back home after Christmas, I really want to hit the party scene in St Barts or somewhere and let loose. The invitation is greatly appreciated, but the peaceful island experience is just the opposite of what I’m looking for.

Epstein: It is understood, I will see you in st Barth, the average on my island may not be comfortable

Musk: Scale is not a problem for Talulah

In other emails from Nov. 2012, Musk asks “What day/night the will be i never ending party to = ours the island?”

Since the new Epstein files were released on Jan. 30, about 3.5 million pages in total, Musk has been going back and forth with LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman on the Internet, each man accusing the other of being heavily affected by the files.

“The big difference between you and me, Reid, is that you left and I didn’t. In fact, you left many times. The first time was probably a mistake, but not the second time you left,” wrote Musk.

“And, as the email shows, it’s clear that I didn’t expect anything really unpleasant, since I was bringing my wife at the time (Talulah). Anyway, AS YOU SHOULD, I came to my senses and refused to go. Epstein tried to get me to go to his island so many times that in the end I just blocked him,” Musk continued in another tweet.

The sentence here is curious, apparently. What does Musk mean that he came to his senses?

Does it mean that Musk always knew that Epstein was trafficking children for sex, wanted to party with him, and then decided against it? Or does it mean that Musk only learned from a series of emails back and forth in 2012, 2013, and 2014 that Epstein was the attacker, which then changed Musk’s mind about spending time with him?

Many things Musk says can be confusing, especially because he is not a reliable narrator of his actions. The billionaire previously wrote in September 2025 that he “refused” to go to Epstein’s island, although the emails we now have don’t suggest that at all. What the publicly available emails show is that Musk and Epstein were communicating together.

Even if you don’t count the possible visit to the island, there have been other communications between the men about other encounters, including a February 2013 encounter referring to the “facility,” where Epstein said he would bring four “assistants.”

Again, Musk denies any wrongdoing. But it seems that every time he decides to enter the fray, things get weird. And it’s not just about Epstein. Early Wednesday morning, Musk responded to a tweet from a user called @PubWanghaf.

“It breaks my heart to say that in order to save this country we will have to do things that make women sad :(” wrote user X.

Musk responded with “truthful words,” without elaborating.

What are you talking about, man?
