Hansi Flick gives updates on Barcelona Injury Crisis

Barcelona Manager Hansi Flick has given an update on the many injury issues facing his side, including the controversy surrounding the injury to Robert Lewandowski. The good news for the blaugrana is that Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez are fit to play again.

That eases their damaging woes, as the flick is set to be without Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, Raphinha and Daphinha and Daphin Olmo for Saturday’s game against Girona in Mondjuic. Lopez and Lamine Yamal return to an attack that includes Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji as suitable options at the moment.

‘Lamine and Fermin cannot play 90 minutes – Flick

Ahead of that game with Girona, Flick told the media that while Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez were coming back from their squad and were injured, they couldn’t play the whole game this weekend.

“I can’t do anything. We have to find solutions. Lamine and Fermín are back, but they can’t play 90 minutes. We have to call anyone.”

Meanwhile on Thursday there was a positive update on progress in Raphinha. He is also suffering from a hamstring problem, and is expected to return to Girona, but his goal now is to return to El Clasico.

“We hope he is ready for the clasico. That is good for us. Sometimes there are problems with the recovery process, but he is on the right track.”

Drama over Robert Lewandowski Injury

Lewandowski is the latest to mourn the injury, and is set to be out for a month. At Can Can Barca, they were reportedly frustrated after Lewandowski continued to play after feeling pain in his leg in the start in Lithuania, before completing 90 minutes.

“Robert told me the same thing (as a coach). He felt good and didn’t feel any pain. It turns out it’s better that this cab is in the country and we miss him.”

Flick was forced to find out more about Lewandowski’s injury, after talking about the Catalan’s previous pressure which could take more care of his body in this situation.

“I don’t think there is a player who takes better care of his body than Robert, and he told me he didn’t think he was injured.” No one is good enough. “

Barcelona’s selection conundrum in attack

It seems likely that Bardghji and Rashford will be in action against Girona from the start, but it will be interesting to see where they land. It could open the door to other prospects for Barcelona’s La Masia.

“In attack, we have lost a lot of players in recent weeks. We have a lot of options. We have players coming back who are at the right level of fitness.”
