Las Vegas for families with children? Tourists and tourists are facing problems

While tourism in Las Vegas is down — with more than three million visitors in August, a 6.7% drop from the same time last year — the city continues to drag down as a desirable destination. Families, meanwhile, have been debating whether it is the right place to bring their children or grandkids on vacation.

In the forum “R / Vegas” on Reddit, one of the travelers shared the experience of visiting Vegas in January.

“Why, why, why for the love of all the saints people bring a ton of little kids to Las Vegas?” Someone pointed out the post, in part.

“Just got back today from four days in Vegas,” one person wrote. “I can’t figure out why these people are bringing all these little kids and there’s nothing they can do for themselves.”

Some people on Reddit took to the comments section to chime in about a family trip to Vegas with the kids.

“It’s amazing to walk in the middle of the night and people will still be out with their kids,” said one user.

Another person wrote, “I was surprised to see such young children even children tied to their mothers walking through smoke filled casinos.”

“Sin city, not stroller city,” tweeted a different user.

One user wrote, “The security used to make sure they are outside the gambling dens…I don’t get it. We used to like to go because we definitely [toward] old people. “

FOX News Digital spoke with tourists in the city about their thoughts on children visiting Vegas.

A woman named Sarah from Staten Island, New York, said she recently had a conversation with someone about families moving.

“They tried to make it family friendly a few years ago. Treasure Island had a pirate show, and a miracle was being shown with this fire. But what I think happened was that the parents took a gamble,” he said.

“If they’re going to try that again, good luck with that. But they need to lower the prices if they want families here,” he added.

Sarah said it doesn’t bother her to see the children around her.

Craig, also from Staten Island, told FOX News Digital He doesn’t mind seeing the kids.

“We’ve all got loads of grandkids, so it won’t bother us. I’d like to be with them now. They’re in school,” said Craig.

Irene from Los Angles said “Vegas is great for families, but the price is going up.”

Visit Las Vegas, the Official Travel Guide for the city, has shared a list of 31 “new and fun” things to do while in Vegas with kids.

“Don’t let all the unique prostitutes, pool parties and high-end food in the restaurant tree – this can certainly be a good place for your family vacation,” says the site.
