College football’s recent season has cooled many heated debates — and now scandals.

In recent days, most of the discussion has focused on the selection of the Finance Committee of the college’s 12-team college committee. But the debate surrounding that topic was quickly put on the back burner when news broke that Michigan had fired its head football coach.

The university said the investigation found there was sufficient evidence that Moore engaged in “an inappropriate relationship with an employee.” The announcement was the surprising end to Moore’s short, up-and-coming streak that saw the Wolverines look back on the field after winning the national championship and being punished by the NCAA.

“This behavior constitutes a clear violation of university policy, and we continue to tolerate such behavior,” school officials said in a statement.

Later, Moore was booked into the Shashtenaw County Jail as Pittsfield police investigated the assault.

Moore’s dismissal left the college football world stunned.

Here’s a look at how former players, fans and other observers reacted to the shocking development.

Former Ohio State Quarterback Cardale Jones, suggesting the decision to remove more was a sign that Michigan “Finally” stuck to “certain standards.”

Some social media users have been closely watching Lane Kiffin, whose decision to move from Ole Miss to LSU drew a mixed, but by no means happy reaction to the generality of sports.

The Detroit Free Press reported that former LSU coach Brian Kelly is not expected to draw interest from Michigan during his coaching career.

The announcement does not include details of the alleged relationship. Moore, who is married with three young daughters, has not commented on his dismissal.
