MS NOW skips Cohen’s admission that he felt ‘coerced’ into testifying against Trump

NEWNow you can listen to Fox News articles!

He was MSNBC’s goose – until his story no longer fit the network’s preferred narrative.

President Donald Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, was a guest on MSNBC for many years while he was a key member of the #Resistance. But the liberal network – now called MS NOW – has never aired her stunning admission that she felt “pressured and coerced” to give evidence that could help impeach the president.

Cohen, who was a key prosecution witness in two New York cases against Trump, accused New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on Friday of pursuing evidence aimed at impeaching Trump. He stated in the Substack post that prosecutors from both offices are not interested in evidence that contradicts their narrative.

“When I was with the prosecutors, preparing for the trial and during the trial, it became clear that they were only interested in the evidence from me that would enable them to convict President Trump,” Cohen wrote. “When my testimony was not sufficient for the point the prosecution wanted to make, the prosecutors often asked inappropriate leading questions to get answers to support their narrative.”

“I faced a similar situation in the Attorney General’s case,” Cohen continued. “Letitia James made it publicly known during her 2018 campaign for attorney general that, if elected, she would succeed President Trump. Her office made it clear that the testimony they wanted from me was testimony that would help them do just that. Again, I felt compelled and compelled to provide what they wanted.”

Cohen has long been a fixture at MSNBC, which changed its name late last year, appearing over the past five years on programs such as “The Beat with Ari Melber,” “The Rachel Maddow Show,” “Inside with Jen Psaki,” “The Weekend,” “Deadline: White House” and “PoliticsNation,” often delivering anti-Trump views. He was often talked about in the networks even when he did not appear as a guest.

The first interview Cohen did after Trump was convicted in New York in 2024 of falsifying business records was with MSNBC. According to Grabien, his most recent interview on the station was in November with weekend host Alex Witt about Trump and the Epstein files.

The ongoing channel mainly covered Trump’s criminal trial in New York in 2024. According to Grabien’s transcript search, “Michael Cohen” was mentioned 10,906 times from the start of the trial on April 15, 2024, until May 31, 2024 – the day after the verdict was announced.

But MS NOW, as of Monday afternoon, ignored Cohen’s revelation that he felt “compelled” to present evidence against Trump. Instead, the network’s coverage in recent days has focused on the Trump administration’s crackdown on Minnesota and reports of possible US interest in buying Greenland.

MS NOW did not mention Cohen from Friday’s Substack bombing until Monday morning, according to a search warrant using Grabien Media. Cohen’s admission was not posted on the MS NOW website, either.

MS NOW did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Cohen said he agreed to that because he does not believe that any American should face trial for political purposes.

“The purpose of Substack’s post was to express my feelings, how I feel about the corrupt practices of the Department of Justice. No one, not me, not Donald Trump or any Donald Doe should be prosecuted for political purposes. That is the basis of our democratic republic and why Lady Justice wears a hat,” Cohen told Fox News Digital.

MSNBC was rebranded as MS NOW late last year after Comcast announced it would spin off its networks from its Versant subsidiary, separating MSNBC from its sister broadcast network NBC.

MS NOW is an acronym for “My Source for News, Vision, and World.”

Cohen pleaded guilty to multiple federal charges in 2018, including campaign finance violations, tax evasion and lying to Congress.
