New York Marijuana Chief Resigns as Inversion Investigation Fails

A high-ranking New York Cannabis executive on Monday amid the fallout of a major state investigation into alleged diversion of marijuana involving millions of dollars worth of product.
Felicia Reid, who led the office of the management of Cannabis from June 2024, the request of New York Gov.
Hochul once again asked the head of the new investigative arm to calm down before the disclosure of the OCM case brought by the licensed processor.
Omnium Health is said to have smuggled an illegal product to the market worth $1.8 billion in a case that also involved major national brands.

REID is now the New York Cannabis Czar who will be forced under the hochul.
His dismissal coincided with the dismissal of the case of OCM brought about the life of omni, a long-standing distributor of the island who is suspected of being at the heart of the scheme of skimming an illegal product.
Also asked to leave the organization was James Rogers, who headed the OCM New Work Bureau, which was tasked with importing.
REID and Rogers will be out later in the week.
OCM did not immediately comment.
In a statement to the CAPITOL PRESTROOM, the hochul tied the broadcast to the omnium case.

The shakeup comes as the OCM dropped its lawsuit against omnium, which would have threatened the strongest penalties assessed against a licensed marijuana business in the state.

- “Debarment” that will prevent their principals from applying for future permits.
- An unspecified penalty “related to secured income” is from the intervention program.
- A massive recall of “all products made with unsuitable processors” and destruction of products.

The second New York marijuana czar has been in the midst of controversy
REID, who served as Director of Operations, is the New York Cannabis Czar – and the second to be forced into the controversy.
Reid’s, Chris Alexander, resigned in May 2024 after a forest audit conducted by Hochul’s office after the governor labeled the introduction of marijuana sales for adults “Disaster.”
