Ohio Attorney General Elliot Forhan Says ‘Kill Donald Trump’

The Democratic candidate for attorney general in Ohio has sparked immediate controversy over a Facebook post outlining his plan to “kill Donald Trump.”
“I want to tell you what I mean when I say I’m going to kill Donald Trump,” Elliot Forhan, Ohio’s top Democratic attorney and former state representative, said. posted on Facebook Monday.
Forhan continued, “I mean that I would find a jury’s conviction beyond a reasonable doubt based on the evidence presented at a trial conducted in accordance with the requirements of due process resulting in a sentence properly imposed as the death penalty.”
“That’s what I mean when I say I’m going to kill Donald Trump.”

Forhan’s comments immediately sparked outrage on social media.
“Absolutely a psychopath, aka a moderate Democrat,” said conservative commentator Dave Rubin posted on X.
“The Ohio AG Democrat who said she would take on President Trump retweeted this when Charlie was shot,” the account of conservative influencer LibsofTikTok. posted on X. “You are a mentally deranged person.”
“People with TDS are a lot like drug addicts,” observed analyst Robby Starbuck posted on X. “The announcements of reduced charges and prison terms are no longer the same. Now we have members of the Democratic Alliance who want to kill the President. This guy is in an insane asylum.”
Some called on Ohio Democrats to oust Forhan and others singled out Democratic Attorney General Jay Jones who was recently elected in Virginia despite calling for the death of his political opponent.

“Democrats, your silence is telling,” said Ohio Republican treasurer candidate Jay Edwards posted on Xcalling the comments “unedited.”
“Dr. Amy Acton and Sherrod Brown—get rid of this extremist now, or admit that you are okay with this violent hatred in your group.”
“That’s typical political assassination,” Ohio Republican Rep. Mehek Cooke said posted on X. “We will never vote for death.”
Ohio State Auditor Keith Faber, who is running for attorney general, called the position “terrible.”
Faber posted on X“I’m calling on @amyactonoh to drop AG Elliot Forhan’s VILE comment that he’s ‘going to kill Donald Trump.’ (months after celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk). Slow down the conversation.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Acton’s Ohio gubernatorial campaign and Brown’s Senate campaign but did not immediately receive a response.

Forhan before he faced criticism last year in a social media post where he said “F— Charlie Kirk” shortly after the activist was killed on a college campus.
In a statement sent to Fox News Digital, Forhan did not retract the comments and said he is fighting for the attorney general to “apply the law equally to everyone” including the president.
“If Donald Trump tries to destroy American democracy again, then as Ohio’s attorney general I will hold him fully accountable to the law,” Forhan said.
Forhan continued, “On the other hand, the views expressed by my Republican opponent in a recent op-ed are no more than those of a simple Trump thug. He does not believe in the truth or the rule of law. He is asking the people of Ohio not to believe what they saw with their own eyes, that an ICE officer killed Renee Good without reason, shot her twice in the face after Keith in Minneapolis had his car recorded. Their jobs.’ Is the ICE officer who shot Alex Pretti 10 times doing his job? No. ICE does not enforce the law. They broke the law. Mr. Faber tells Ohioans that, if elected, he will let Trump get away with murder. Ohio voters should welcome Mr. Faber in his voice.”
