Pixel Android update and feature update: What’s new (Nov. 2025)

The latest Google 16 Android update for Pixel owners is here. And so, comes the special feature of the pixel.

Along with the security updates in the Android 16 November release (more on this soon), Google has announced a new release Pixel feature. This feature comes packed with new capabilities for Pixel owners, especially when it comes to messaging.

The first big feature is fixing Google messages. This new feature allows pixel users to edit or repeat any image within Google messages using the nano banana, Gemini image model and editing model. Google announced that the Nano Banana would be coming to Google Photos last month, but now it’s here.

Pixel devices will also be able to provide users with notifications containing AI summaries of long text messages, group chats and multi-message conversations. In addition to this, family friends and close VIPs will receive priority notifications from Pixel.

Building on these messages and notification updates is a new feature for Pixel 6 phones and a new feature. This feature will warn users about possible Scam texts with the label “possible” scam “added to notifications of messages that are considered suspicious.

From notifications, there are many updates to photo editing, also thanks to Nano Banana. Personalized editing in Google Photos will allow users to request photo editing from AI by simply selecting a photo in the app and tapping “help me edit.” Users can describe in text exactly what they want changed in the image. An example provided by Google includes a user requesting “remove Riley’s glasses, open my eyes, make an angel smile and open eyes.” Images respond by making requested changes to the image.

Everything else on Android 16 November Update

Apparently, this Android 16 update includes some important fixes for the issues reported on Nov. 3 Android Security, according to 9to5Google.

What else is included? Most importantly, Google has released a fix for the emergency calling feature that “caused unusability and intermittent problems.”

The most noticeable improvement for Android users is related to the camera. Google caught the controversy that caused a “rainbow like color pattern” in photos taken with ultrawide and phone lens.

The November update also fixes a sound issue that causes “Application Stuttering during Runtimes,” an issue that “prevents some apps from loading,” and an error where “Webcam Mode does not work properly with connected devices.”

In addition, the Android 16 November update offers “general improvements to charging and battery usage”.

Which devices are eligible for renewal?
