Hollywood is full of studio legends who are heavily involved in the film’s production, either forcing a hand-picked role, adding a giant spider, or, in the case of Joe Dante’s 1987 classic Interior spacepoor marketing decisions. It was taken satirical Nice trip, Interior space he was imbued with Dante’s trademark twisted sense of humor and a unique combination of low-brow comedy and high-concept sci-fi that made him suffocate with evangelical power.
The problem is that the movie was so good that warner brosb. Management didn’t think it needed marketing. Because of this, they released one of the worst movie advertising campaigns of the 1980s.

Against all odds, the studio loved it, and the film went on to become a huge cult classic. When it first hit theaters, it was considered a huge disappointment.

When the film hit vhs, it exploded, bringing in $50 million in rental copies due to word of mouth. While the term “Cult Classic” can be overdone even today, even Dante admits that the film was not seen until it was available in stores.
Interior space A weird movie full of physical comedy and silly gags in Hollywood has become altios to as the studios have now pretended that the jokes don’t exist. The special effects don’t hold back today, but that’s now a big part of the film’s kitschy charm. If you haven’t seen the movie, you should give it a chance, if only for Martin Short Shot’s manic performance from his height SCTV honor.
