‘Stranger Print’ Star Cara Buono Talks About Going Through Her Wine Moment

Karen Wheeler has been part of the hawkins series since the first season of Stranger Thingsbut apart from her romance with Max’s live-in brother Billy, she is a background player. She’s Nancy, Mike, and Holly’s Mom, and she’s been as supportive/insulting as the story needs. The first half of season five, saw Karen step up in a big way when one of the Vecna children visited the home intending to snatch her young daughter upside down.
This is not just any family home; This is where the famous basement is located, where Mike, Will, Dustin, and Lucas find their love shared Dungeons & Dragons. But Karen was still very good at the edges Stranger Things‘Monster attacks so far – when we see him putting the hell out of battle, he names his weapon of choice: a broken wine bottle, something that also happens to represent his process of choice.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Cara Buono, who plays Karen, talked about the character’s evolution so far — and teased a little about what’s to come.
“I love the transformation that’s going on in Karen, which I think will really bring you out,” Buono said. We impress him. But we also want to hear more of the karen we’ve seen so far in season five.
“[In season five]Therefore, suddenly Karen threw incredulously, “says Buono.” All this time, he has been in denial and drinking his wine. One of the ways I found out was that the Quintessential Clueless Clueless ’80s Mama was asking him to drink as often as possible. “
As for his drink of choice, Buono said it is white wine. “Because his rug is white in the living room and he doesn’t want to spill. It’s less of a hangover than red. I was like, Chardonnay. I always said he was the ultimate COLED SOLICTIC type. It was my way of trying to explain the huge rejection and emptiness he was looking at. “
Hawkins is under military lockdown for season five, but as we see the minor characters as they collect resources for their radio station, there is a thriving black market. This is how Karen gets her needs met, Buono explained.
“Karen knows where to find wine,” she said. “He’s focused on wine, maybe some nail polish, and there’s a guy with a truck that comes in with all that. I’m smoking a garage sale.”
However, like buono – who has worn various wigs throughout Stranger Things-You’ll agree, Karen’s hair has seen better days: “It’s getting a little sad in season five because it’s less separated without good hair products.” Those “hiding joints under water” heroes touched his curls.
We’re pulling for you, Mr. Wheeler! Stranger Things It returns in multiple episodes on December 25 and 31.
