Sunrise Alarm Clock for $50: This sunrise alarm works well but looks better suited as a desk lamp than a true sunrise alarm. But it can be a nice choice if you live in a studio and need a device that can serve as both your desk and your bedside alarm. It also has a USB – charging port and can display the time as 24- or 12-hour.
Philips Smartsleep Wake-Up Light (HF3520/60) for $149: This may sound similar to the lamp we recommend above, but it has a different form and lacks the word “sleep” from the name because it does not provide the process of our time at night. But it works just as well as the Morning Sunrise lamp, and like other Philips models, it’s easy to set up without any instructions. It’s a good inexpensive model, but not as cheap as other options with similar offerings.
Lumie BodyClock Glow 150 for $139: This cute little watch worked well, but some of our watches are big and flashy. You can get a Wiim for the same price, or a Philips HF3520 for CHEAPER.
Lumie BodyClock Shibe 300 for $169: This Sunrise watch is similar to the Luxe 700FM but lacks many of the radio features on the front such as the telescopic antenna and multi-channel save buttons, and the light controls are not as easy as driving. But if you don’t care about those changes and want to spend less money, the light is 300 is a good option.
Hatch baby for $100: An updated version of the popular hatch hatch child, with a new look and application options similar to the hatch refund 3 above (previously the application options were simple, even if the devices all shared the same sleep application). This is a fun option for kids, even though it doesn’t make light a little bit. However, it turns into happy colors and plays music at certain times and for a certain length. My 3-year-old looks forward to the “green light” turn on every morning (but this doesn’t, unfortunately, prompt him to leave his bed at four in the morning.) You’ll get a six-month subscription to tie + content.
Hatch Return 2 for $94: Hatch no longer sells this model, but you can find it for sale at third-party retailers and sites like Walmart and eBay. It’s a great tool that gives you the same app and audio offerings as the hatch Return 3, but the return 3 has better controls. I recommend skipping this new model device, and it’s only available for refurbishing from third-party vendors.

How do Sunrise watches work?
Your body is designed to naturally wake up at sunrise and feel asleep as the sun sets. The light at the beginning and end of the day is warm, golden, unlike the bright, blue sunlight that keeps you awake. The sunrise alarm clock simulates this transition from morning to daylight, to help signal your body to wake up (or sleep, if the clock also has a sun option).
Each of the models we recommend offers a sunrise process, which means that you choose a time to wake up and the sunrise clock will start to show a deep orange light and a change of bright light for your time. Some offer customization, allowing you to choose how long you want the sunrise to be, while others set a time. Some also allow the option to go back with Sunset Surture and it can double with Sound equipment. Most of these plugs into the wall like a classic alarm clock and always put, although sometimes there is a companion application or regeneration capabilities (if it is not mentioned, however, it does not measure that it is not).
What should you look for in a sunrise alarm clock?
There are many factors to consider in a sunrise lamp, but which ones will most appeal to a person.
If you struggle to sleep: roast with a sunrise and night alarm or wind process. This helps in creating a routine for you to go to sleep.
If you need a bedside lamp and a sunrise clock: Get a solar light clock with easy-to-turn off controls like a bedside lamp. Not all sunrise watches have them, so check the details carefully (and reviews like ours)
If you want a specific bed sound: See how many sounds are offered. Almost every Sunrise Clock has some mechanical features and options, but the cheap ones tend to get only a few sounds and may not have the sound you want.
If you want app control: Some options in this guide don’t have a companion app or Wi-Fi capabilities, especially some of my favorites. The app doesn’t claim to be the best Sunrise Clock, but it can be easier to use. If you choose an app to set up your Sunrise Lamp, you’ll buy Casper, Hatch, Loffie, and Wim.
Do sunrise alarms work for heavy sleepers?
Yes! I sleep a lot in the morning and this still helps me wake up. You may want to choose a gradual increase in the brightness of the sunrise you choose, so that the dim light of the room does not wake you up from this deep sleep.
What is the difference between a sunrise clock and a sad lamp?
These two gadgets may look similar on the outside, but solar clocks and other wake-up style lights will wake you up, while a sad lamp or sotisonal disorder lamp is designed to mimic sunlight during the day. Distressed lights make for light therapy to help combat the blues of the year during stressful times of the year, while sunrise alarms are just the thing to wake up to in the morning. Both can help regulate your CircADADIAN rhythm, but in different ways. You can set a sunrise watch to stay up all day to help simulate sunlight, although this doesn’t promise the same benefits and you may not get the help you’re looking for.
How do you choose sunrise watches for testing?
We research all models ahead of time so you can see which ones are worth testing. We are looking to ensure that they wake up the lights (some sad lights will look like a sunrise alarm, but if there is no place to go out slowly so that they are not suitable for the test of this guide) and look for various tests. We’ve made an effort to select both low-cost options with low-end features and high-end options to compare and contrast with each other in our review rooms.
What are the sundials found on the rope?
I tested each recommended clock on my bed in a room with blackout curtains to see how much it could actually light up the room during its sunrise process. I slept with each model for anywhere between one and seven nights, depending on its performance. I also tried the different sound options that each device had to offer on both speakers and see how the sounds are liked or lied to. If there is an option for a night route, I checked that.
