It probably is The end of the year, and Black Friday for us, is a good time to buy a laptop. I’ve scoured the junk for the best black laptop deals, and I’m happy to report that most of my favorite laptops I’ve reviewed this year are on sale right now. Best of all, some laptops that were thought to be overpriced now have such discounts that have risen in my estimation. So, if you have been waiting to buy a laptop at the right time, here it is. One of these laptops should fit exactly what you’re looking for at a variety of prices.

Best deal for Windows Saptop
If you’re shopping for a laptop on Black Friday, chances are you’re looking for something a little more friendly. And while the macbook air is the better laptop, there is no question that the dell 14 plus is the best the price. It comes with good specs: 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, and Intel Core Ultra 5 226V. I reviewed the model with the Core Ultra 7 258V, but either way, you get great battery life and integrated graphics performance.
Most importantly, it avoids the two main pitfalls of budget laptops: Poor displays and TouchPads. The Dell 14 Plus comes with a high resolution display (2560 x 1600) and a very smooth touchpad. It’s definitely a premium laptop for an affordable price, and at $500, it’s legitimately the best laptop for Black Friday. It’s a stage-door deal, though, so once it’s sold, the price may change.
The best deal for a MacBook
Since its launch this spring, the M4 MacBook Air has been the best laptop you can buy. It also continued to drop in price a little month after month, now up to $ 749. That is low enough that it is not worth buying cheap, aours old macbooks, like the M2 model. The difference in performance (and external display support) is significant. An M5 model is likely to arrive sometime in early 2026, but it will be a long time before it comes down to the current M4 price. Come and find it while it’s hot.
I’ve rounded up the best Black Friday MacBook deals here with lots of recommendations and discussion on MacBook repairs.
The best Chromebook deal ever
There are Chromebooks I like better than the Lenovo Flex 5i Chromebook Plus (8/10, highly recommended), like the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14. But they’re not this cheap. At $350, it’s one of the most affordable Chromebook Plus Models you can find – they’re in a different league above Chromebooks at this price. It has a better screen, faster performance, more storage, and a crisper webcam. The Flex 5i Chromebook Plus has a 360-degree tilt and touch screen, souting the call.
The latest MacBook, is already on sale
The macbook air is a better value, yes. And the M4 Pro or M4 Max Macbooks have a lot of power. But the base 14-Inch Macook Pro is the only Mac right now with the latest M5 Chip, which debuted last month. I wish Apple would include more features in this system, as the M5 is the only change over the M4 model. The good news is that the M5 MacMacBook Pro (8/10, repeat recommendation) offers a strong increase in performance in all areas, including the CPU, GPU, and neural engine. The most important discount is only $200 per month after launch.
The best 2-in-1 deal
The Oled Surface Pro was pretty cool when it came out in mid-2024. It was the first time that the Pro Ce Pro received an OLED panel, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus / Elite Chip finally gave this Windows Tablet and the battery life needed to compete with the iPad Pro. The only problem? It was very expensive. But on Black Friday, the Oled Surface Pro is $500 off, bringing the price down to just $900. This is a caveat to remember that you will still need to buy a hybrid keyboard to type with. Together, you have a 2-in-1 laptop that is the ultimate travel companion and full PC replacement.
A great budget laptop
The Asus Vivobook 14 is one of the few Snapdragon X-enabled laptops that delivers great performance and battery life at surprisingly low prices. It’s $200 on Black Friday, which brings it down to the same price as the last day of Amazon Prime. There is only one problem: the Dell 14 plus. By all means, it’s the laptop you should buy. Not only is it cheaper, but it also has a better display, TouchPad, and integrated GPU performance. However, if the limited Dell 14 Plus prices are out of date, the Asus Vivobook 14 is your next best bet for a Windows laptop around this price.
What to look for in a black laptop case
Shopping around the Black Friday deal is unlike shopping for a laptop at any other time of the year. We never recommend products we don’t test, so if you’re interested in a particular laptop on this list, check out the corresponding review. But as you’re shopping around, you might want to look up the following specs and the current price of the laptop:
- Salmon
- Kind of
- Memory (RAM)
- To put
- Display Resolution, panel type, and refresh rate
- Battery life
Finally, consider price history. CamelcaMelCamel is a great tool to see some historical data on price drops for individual laptops. Some of the laptops featured above (such as the dell 14 plus) hit new historical boundaries in terms of price, while others return to the same low price as they were on day one. That does not mean that this is not necessarily a good thing, but it is important to know that not all skills labeled “Black Friday Deal” are equal, even if the percentages are “equal. Many products these days have prices that are permanently reduced by sellers, who can survive how big the sale really is.

Now is a good time to buy a laptop?
Yes. Black Friday is not the only major shopping event of the year, and it is not uncommon to find good sales on laptops at certain times, be it on Amazon Prime Day. But Black Friday is always important as the beginning of the holiday shopping season. of new arrivals, which is why we often see huge Black Friday discounts.
This year, that time even applies to macbooks. Because Apple did not renew any MACS this fall except for the 14-inch M5 MacMacBook Pro, laptops such as the M4 MacBook Air or M4 Pro / MacBook Pro have been reduced in anticipation of their debut in early 2026.
