If its performance was a smidge better, this car would be a home run. It’s worth considering if money’s tight, but spring for the moto g stylus if you can (or if you don’t care about the stylus). Remember, Motorola will probably announce a new version in early 2026.

Motorola Edge 2025 for $430: Motorola is one of the few companies that can still make smartphones with waterfall displays, where the edges of the screen meet the phone system for a cool, almost bezel-less effect. Popular a few years ago, the trend fell out of fashion because it was just difficult to use the phone (bezels would be nice!). I didn’t have many issues with the TouchScreen on this model, and while I think the overall aesthetic is nice with the vegan leather back, the border doesn’t stand out as much as the tough competition with its $550 MSRP. The performance is very slight (I noticed a lot of lag in the camera app). The main camera is solid, but Lofluster’s software update policy makes it hard to recommend. It’s the best deal when it comes to sales during big sales events.
Motorola Razr+ (2025) for $700: The razr+ is identical to the razr+ (2024), except it uses Motorola’s titanium-reinforced hinge for improved durability. The specs are otherwise similar, but they sit in the middle ground where it doesn’t offer a huge improvement over the razr 2025, but it doesn’t stay too far from the razr ultra. You may find the lack of an ultrawide camera annoying, especially for group selfies, and the battery here is the smallest in the current line. You could end up saving money and buying a razr 2024+ (7/10, recommend wired), which has great performance and solid cameras, but I highly recommend waiting for a sale. This phone is priced as low as $580, which is great for a phone that’s so affordable.

Moto G 5G 2026 for $200: The Moto G 2026 is almost identical to the Moto G Play 2026 below, except that it doubles the storage (expandable via MicroSD), and includes faster cameras, as well as front and rear cameras that pack more megapixels. It’s a $20 difference, so if you’re looking at one, you should go for the Moto G 5G 2026. The performance is pretty much the same, although it’s less usable every day (if you’re patient). Even with more megapixels, don’t expect much from the cameras; They can take decent photos in good lighting, but they struggle with a lot of light. I was able to hit about two days of battery life with moderate use, and I love that this phone still has a headphone jack. However, keep in mind that it will only receive two Android OS updates and three years of security updates. I think you better buy 2025 moto g power or wait for 2026 moto g power and hold it.
Moto G Play 5g 2026 for $180: ModaLa’s cheap phone always sits in an awkward position. Yes, for less than $200, this is a viable handset now with 5G features. You get two-day battery life, a headphone jack, expandable storage, and a beautiful design. But the size of the mediatek size 6300 chip with 4 GB of RAM is highly advised to expect to wait a second or two, sometimes more, so that the web application will be able to load or the web page to load. Image quality is passable; Most of my photos are in lifluster colors. I have taken several calls, and the people on the other end complain often about my sound quality, which is not good. It is good that this Ultra budget phone will receive two OS updates, but when the Moto G Power 2025 is sold for $ 200 on Amazon and generally offers faster performance, camera break, better camera quality, play is difficult to determine.

Motorola phones are depreciating very quickly. You should avoid buying moto g phones from 2024 or earlier. They will not receive any updates to the Android version, and the prices are very different from the latest models. I don’t recommend you to buy Moto G 2025 and since then you are its fan here. Motorola’s previous year 2024 or the aforementioned razr + 2024 is a classic ring, so don’t assume anything.

Motorola’s top competition comes from Google, of course, and Samsung. If you asked me which phone I should buy, I would point you to the Google Pixel 9A ($499). It has many features that people want in a smartphone, including wireless charging. Nothing with new devices, phone (3A) and phone (3a) Pro. They are attractive, beautiful, and inexpensive, although the company’s compatibility with it is not straightforward. CMF has nothing less than CMF and it has a very good $279 phone, the CMF 2 Pro phone.
