The Honorable Last Act proposes slain heroes to Access the US at the US Capitol

I remember every soldier’s funeral so clearly: Each crack of gunfire, more, more solemnly folded flag and given to a family member with these words, “on behalf of a grateful nation.” I know there is nothing we, as a nation, can do to repay the debt, but I know we can do something to really show how grateful we are as a nation.

That’s why I passed a law, the Final Honor Act, that allows any US service member killed in action (Kia) to lie under the dome of the US Capitol. This honor allows Americans to pay a final tribute to those who have served our nation. The tradition dates back to 1852, when Henry Clay – house officer and secretary of state to President John Quincy Adams – first received recognition. Since then, just 46 people have died in the state or in honor, including the disgraced President, human rights activist Rosa, Capitol police killed in the line of duty.

Every member of our armed forces was killed when they were shot from a plane or helicopter, received a sniper round or by actime bravely, killed bravely and swore to defend their law and defend our constitution and our country. They did jobs that were always dangerous and proved deadly, and they did it willingly, knowing they might not do it at home to their loved ones. But while their love for America and all she stood for was boundless, respect for their sacrifice was not.

That’s why I’m working to make sure our service members get the credit they deserve by giving those at Kia a chance to lie to the government – so all Americans can pay their last respects. This will allow the families of the dead to choose whether they wish to honor their fallen service member with their flag lowered by casket under our capitol building.

It is completely given to accept, but they would know that their country stands with them and men like me will not approach the coffin, offer a prayer, and love your fallen sister or brother very much. I would like the first of these to be given to the family of Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, West Virginia Army National Guard, who lost her life in our nation’s capital. God willing, you will be the first and last member of the ministry to receive this help. But if another soldier, sailor, airman, Marine, or caregiver, gives their life because of the highest respect and honor for putting each of those heroes in position.

Fallen National Guard Member’s father calls his death a ‘horrific tragedy’ in heartbreaking post

We, as citizens of the United States, have a responsibility to honor the sacrifice of our heroes. But that doesn’t make as much sense as many would expect. As I presented this idea, I had many people first to bring such ceremonial disturbances that would cause the capitol if we were at war and suffered many casualties. I pray, sincerely, because all our men and women who have protected us, but if one of them gives their life, then our 535 law enforcement officers absolutely need their lives disrupted, to pay the consequences of the decisions they make.

The lawmakers of our country should have done this for all the wounded of World War II and Korea, or the merchants of Vietnam, and our brothers and sisters in the East. Freedom to work and work endures for freedom. We have failed in the past, let’s not fail the artist BEBKSTROM or any festival that gives its life behind it.

To some, that may sound symbolic. For those who have worn the uniform – or lost someone who has seen the nation’s effort show true gratitude. It will be a reminder that our freedom comes at an incredible cost. For that, expert BEBKSTROM, on behalf of the nation of gratitude, thank you, and we thank God for blessing you and our country, and may you rest in peace.
