But if you don’t have the time (or the emotional bandwidth) to revisit all 15 episodes of Season 1 Pittwe cover everything you need to know.
How much time passed between Season 1 and Season 2 of Pitt?
Almost 10 months have passed between seasons, and Season 2 takes place on July 4. Like the previous season, each episode of Pitt Season 2 will be one hour during the day at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. This Independence Day setting means that in addition to the everyday emergencies that come into Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, you can also expect fireworks-related injuries and other summer heat.
But don’t worry! The present doctor Dr. Robby (Wyle) works the day shift. She also reunited with a number of familiar faces from Season 1, including doctors Samira Mohan (Supriya Ganesh), Cassie McKay (Fiona Dourif), Mel King (Taylor Dearden), Trinity Santos (Isa Briones), and Dennis “Huckleberry” Whitaker (Gerran Howell), as well as student doctor Azez (Chrabanash) and Victoria Javazedi (Chrabanash). And their ability to come together in the face of tragedy has been so satisfying in a world gone mad Pitt Fans have described the show as “porn and skill.”
Where is Dr. Collins?

In Season 1, Tracy Ifeachor played Dr. Heather Collins, former flame of Dr. Robby had a miscarriage during her period. From there, he understandably closed early, missing the flood of patients that would kill the PittFest crowd. He also won’t be appearing in Season 2, as Deadline reported last July that Ifeachor would not be returning.
Is Dana coming back?

Yes! Last season, a nurse (Katherine LaNasa) with a heart like gold and a voice called Yinzer threatened to quit her job after being attacked by an angry patient. Thankfully, Dana is back.
LeNasa won an Emmy and a Critics’ Choice Award for her incredible performance in Season 1, so showrunner R. Scott Gemmill will be mad to clear him. And his return is good news pitt, its followers, and Dr. Robby, who is the heart of the show, but also in danger of exploding. Strong but sensitive, sometimes angry but always strong, it is impossible to imagine this place, or this show, without Dana.
Where was Dr. Langdon?

In the season 2 premiere, Pitt fans will see Dr. Langdon (Patrick Ball) returns after some time away, as his behavior in Season 1 calls for.

At the beginning of that transition, Langdon was a respected (albeit arrogant) senior resident, tasked with introducing second-year resident Mel King to the ways of The Pitt. However, as the shift continues, he blows up the wannabe maverick Santos, who starts a speech from Dr. Robby. Then, Santos shares his suspicions that Langdon stole benzodiazepines. When Robby confirms this, he is furious and sends Langdon home. However, when Langdon hears about the shooting at PittFest, he returns to help anyway. Robby reluctantly agreed.
Now in Season 2, he’s back and not the cocky bastard we remember. In the behavior of sheep, in episode 1, Langdon returns from 10 months of “rehabilitation and counseling.” The other nurses welcomed him warmly, and Mel was so happy that she almost hugged him in front of everyone. But Robby isn’t so enthusiastic, letting the returning resident take over and try to avoid him.
Santos still calls Javadi “Crash”?

Yes. Within hours of meeting her in Season 1, Santos had given her fellow doctors unwanted nicknames. Whitaker was teased for being a farm boy with a “Huckleberry,” and Javadi was nicknamed “Crash” for fainting during an illness. But at the end of Season 1, Javadi proved himself by going through one hell of a first day, considering the PittFest massacre. He went out for drinks with his pals in the park (don’t tell his mum!) while Santos showed his softer side to Whitaker.
After being a jagoff to his peers all day, he discovers that Whitaker is homeless and squatting in a closed area of the hospital. He gave her a room in his apartment for free. This was the kindest thing we’ve seen him do yet, so it was possible that Santos wouldn’t be a bully in Season 2. But while Langdon is showing a new humility this season, Santos is cocky and abusive. He still brags in front of the management and belittles his colleagues with funny jokes and negative comments. But even in this first episode, we get a better idea of why she is so determined not to get close to anyone.
Wait, where is Dr. Robby?

Instead of walking to work, as we saw at the beginning of last season, Dr. Robby rides a motorcycle to the ER. Last season, Dr. Jack Abbott (Shawn Hatosy) suggested to his depressed friend that a hobby might help him get through the tough days at the hospital. So, the three-month sabbatical Robby promises to begin at the end of this transition will be a long-distance motorcycle ride over Pittsburgh’s yellow bridges to the Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump.
“It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Alberta,” Robby tells Langdon. “I’ve never seen the Badlands.”
According to the Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump website, the site “preserves and interprets Plains Buffalo culture for more than 6,000 years. Through extensive space, exhibits, and programs, learn about the cultural significance of this rock to the Plains people.”
So was Langdon right when he called this trip a “spiritual quest?” We will see.
Who is Louie?

While most of the returning cast members are leaving PittThe first season plays doctors, nurses, or other hospital workers, Ernest Harden Jr. he played the lovable drunkard Louie Cloverfield. Like Earl (Hansford Prince), who liked sandwiches but not egg salad, and Myrna (Jeanette Tondino O’Connor), who liked to call Dr. Robby called “fruitcake,” and Louie used to hang around the ER. Like Norm from Happinessexcept that everyone keeps telling him to drink a little.
In Season 1, Louie came to the ER twice in 24 hours with problems related to his heavy drinking. Langdon had prescribed “benzos” to ease alcohol withdrawal, but he pocketed several pills to use. In this new episode of Season 2, the two are reunited, as Louie arrives with a swollen stomach and an infected tooth. Langdon takes the opportunity to come clean, apologizing sincerely and without color. While Louis is shocked, he offers forgiveness. And just like last time, she may be suffering from her symptoms, but she is a ray of sunshine to all who cross her path.
Pitt Season 2 starts Jan. 8 at 9 pm ET on HBO Max, with new episodes every Thursday.
