President Donald Trump on Wednesday called on Mexico to deal with millions of raw and unworked seafood entering the United States, which pose health risks to nearby communities, according to officials.
“Mexico must take care of its water and sewage problem, immediately. It is a real danger to the people of Texas, California and the United States of America!” Trump wrote about social truth.
For years, sewage from border towns like Tijuana made its way to the United States through the Tijuana River, with local leaders describing the problem as a health crisis.
Authorities said the sewage is affecting local tourism – especially on local beaches – and the Naval Amphibious Base Courado, where naval forces train.

This problem is blamed on Tijuana’s poor infrastructure, which has been developed by the skyrocketing population of the area.
Jan Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond called the issue one of the worst environmental and public health problems in the country that no one is talking about.
“I’m glad to see the President finally addressing this decades-long problem,” he told Fox News Digital. “It has affected military preparedness, threatened national security, and created an environmental disaster in southern California — all while Mexico has gone unreported.”
“You have to change,” he added. “We need real enforcement, real results, and real actions to protect our communities.”
