University of Iowa Student Accused of Leaving TPusa and Yaf Tables on Campus

A University of Iowa student who was arrested Wednesday after police say he nearly turned the tables on the USA campus was arrested just days after a high-profile collegiate fight against a high-profile American school team.
The criminal complaint against Justin Calhoon says he blacked out the YAF table on campus on Oct. 27. Arrested on Oct.
The complaint states that Calhoon left the residence hall in the early afternoon and was caught by college surveillance talking at the YAF table and exhibiting “disruptive and aggressive behavior.”

“When he arrived, the accused interrupted their meeting by destroying the groups [sic] The table, made obscene gestures, shouted profanities, including ‘- — my d —,’ while leaving the group. It is also noteworthy that some property of Yaf was damaged.
A second criminal complaint from the same incident states that a member of the YAF YAF YEAf “expressed concern for his safety and well-being if contact continued with the organization for the sake of the organization for the sake of the organization.”
Only a week after his first arrest, Calhoon was arrested again on Wednesday on suspicion of turning the tables on the USA.
Video of that incident shows a man identified by police as Calhoon ling a table next to him, thrusting it into him and tossing it to his side while turning Point’s promotional materials around the table.

He was arrested hours later after being reported on two counts of disorderly conduct, a fifth-degree felony and two counts of third-degree harassment.
A group of Female Turning Point students were also left feeling threatened.
“This incident left the group shaken and disrupted their event,” said a complaint from the incident. “They were forced to rearrange their table and reported feeling depressed and intimidated, especially since all the members were there.”

In response to a request for comment about Calhoon’s tenure with Turning Point, the University of Iowa said students are expected to adhere to certain standards of behavior, but did not say whether Calhoon has, or will be required to.

“All IOWA students are expected to follow the code of student life, which sets the standards of conduct and conduct for this investigation.
The spokesperson for the department also said that the school believes in free speech.

“The University of Iowa is fully committed to free speech, requiring initial orientation training for all students annually and regular communication expectations to tolerate diversity of opinion,” said a company spokesperson.
The University of Iowa did not respond to a request for comment regarding Yaf’s Calhoon’s run-in.
