Vic Michaelis teaches Brennan Lee Mulligan to drop out of American Girl Dolls

Left-wing fans know Vic Michaelis as the mastermind of counter-comedy, even if they’re betting a dollar on Sam Reich. game changer, playing their own fictional version of a better interview show Most Important People, or to join Dimension 20 as a “dusty do-gooder” obsessed with death Gladlands. But for the role of Michaelis in the new Peacock series Ponies, took their genius to 1977 Russia, playing the distraught office manager of the American Embassy in Moscow.
Michaelis visited Mashable’s Say More couch to talk all this and more with Entertainment Editor Kristy Puchko. In the video above, catch Vic’s pitch Changing the gameVersion of Shark Tank. In the episode, called “Fool’s Gold,” the contestants are the videos that could go viral. While others involved messy animation and breast milk taste testing, Michaelis stopped Brennan Lee Mulligan from Dropout to make American Girl Doll shoes.
“You’re taking the thing that people love the most and the thing that they fear the most,” they said of the pitch, saying, “Sam said throw in three to five ideas. And I said, ‘I’ve got one, and if you don’t want to do it, then I don’t want to come on the show.’
The resulting video not only made waves on TikTok and Instagram, where fans wondered whether the joke was real or not. News of the fake resignation hit Google like an Easter egg, raining tiny shoes when you googled “Brennan Lee Mulligan.”
In the full episode of Say It Wide, available on YouTube, Michaelis talks more about that era of Internet breaches. Above, they also revealed that it would be American Girl Dolls or Sylvanians (aka Calico Critters). “I ended up doing a lot of research on what kind of product might work with the video,” explained Michaelis. “I had narrowed it down to Sylvanian dolls and American Girl dolls.”
We all know what goes down with the Sylvanian dolls, right? A content creator called Sylvanian Drama went viral for using dolls to create scandalous TikTok stories, and was sued by the toy maker in July 2025.
“That’s the case against that wonderful The Sylvanian Drama creator has happened immediately after the episode dropped,” Michaelis recounted, “or just before we went out. So, I was saying ‘Thank God’ [I went with American Girl Dolls].”
Michaelis also touches on how their gag is about Evelyn Tucci, who they say about her Changing the game she’s Stanley Tucci’s paternal grandmother, she’s found a new life online. In addition, they told Mashable how their original martial arts background came into play Ponies. OK, so the kick-to-the-throat attack has been discontinued since Season 1. But can we see Michaelis’ black belt skills in Season 2? Here is hope.
